David Aldridge says Houston will make a move

Post#1 » by jwise44 » Fri Mar 9, 2012 12:32 am

Not that it is surprising but when asked what moves d.a. Thinks will happen, first thing out of his mouth is Houston and saying we are talking to a number of teams.

Not surprised, but noteworthy?

If it should be merged into trades do so..

I heard Kevin Martin and Jordan Hill to Sixers for Evan Turner, Andres Nocioni, and Craig Brackens.

ya this should get moved to the trade thread

but ehh, im rarely informed on rookies, but everyone saying turner gonna blow up. which is cool, but we need someone on the bench to play backup center, and patterson is not that guy. hill is more suited for that. brakcins is a first round pick, but will he be another first round bust we trade for? he's also listed at 230, we dont need that small-pushed-around-the-paint-cant-hold-their-position frame.

I remember about a month ago I proposed a similar trade.
Martin & Hill for ET & Nocioni

luke warm reception from 76ers...

of the 3 Howard, Gasol, Turner... which would you guys most want?

I'd say
1. Howard (idc if he leaves, just let me be happy for 6 weeks)
2.Turner
3. Gasol

If Howard didn't sign an extension I would prefer Evan turner

I would actually love Evan he's a playmaking Sg and would be a perfect 6 man if we resign lee this off season. Plus (I don't know if it's homerism) I'm becoming extremely content with parsons at the 3...we could upgrade, but if he develops a floater for that drive to the lane and his jumper improves a little I think he'll be a decent starter

^^ No Parsons is legit, dont feel bad.
But if we did get Turner i think he would start over one of Lee or Parsons, he usually guards 3 better than 2's.

Either way he would be awesome, and Lowry is versatile, has no problem playing off ball.

It's not really about whether are players are legit it's where can we improve. Yea we have good players which makes it hard to get rid of them but if everyone was so good we wouldn't be in 10th place. Being a middle of the road team with talent is the most difficult position to be in.

^^ya that's True, but the turner trade would be a move for the future as opposed to an illadvised win now move like the pau trade

That being said im going to sleep and am going on a diving trip in the morning so I'll miss a few games. root for my boys while I'm gone!

Would not mind getting Turner at all specially if Martin is gone. Still need that post scorer. Just wondering can Turner create his own and create for others? Know very little about Turner.

Turner would be what TWill was suppose to develop into. I would love to get him in return for Martin.

Would not shock me one bit if this happened. He ruined Linsanity. Hope Morey doesn't overpay.

Martin and Scola to NYK for Anthony and Josh Harrellson (PPat's best friend from Kentucky)

Lmao why would the Knicks want scola when they have amare. And why would a team that already has problems on defense want martin. That trade makes 0 sense

Three-way deal with L.A. that gets a suitable true PG to L.A. Take the assets of Martin, Scola, Dragic, and 1. See what you can make of it.

Hey guys Bulls fan here I like the make up of your team and think you will be the team that may upset a higher seed when the playoffs roll around anywho I came here to ask what would it take to get to get Lee or Bud obviously we'll love to have Martin but we dont have the assets/money to get him but we have been looking to get someone like Lee or Bud to upgrade our 2nd unit and add depth (fill in starter even) since we have been hit by the injury bug on the wing I just wanted to know from a Houston (fanbase) perspective

Hola!

Well...to be quite honest the Rockets probably value Lee much more than Martin at this point. You'd probably have a better shot at Kevin right now. I think that Houston will listen to offers for Courtney Lee, but barring some team really overpaying for his services next year the Rockets are most likely rolling the dice thinking that he'll only get a deal in the price range they are willing to offer (like they did with Lowry).

Budinger is more difficult. The fact is that he simply does not make a lot (relatively speaking  ) and it's really not worth Houston sending him out when they can keep him for at least one more year on the cheap. I know that he is in the dog house right now, but the Rockets would probably be very open to trying to move him as part of a package.

Here's how I'd see Houston's willingness to move these guys:

Lee - very unlikely
Martin - we'd love to
Budinger - no likely on his own
Martin & Budinger - sign us up!
Lee & Budinger - not happening

As disappointed as i am, I'll only move Martin if we can get assets in return for him. I wouldn't be happy if Morey just traded him for pure expiring. Minimum offer is expiring plus a first round pick from 14-20 range.
