You're kidding, right? Jennings has EASILY been the most criticized player since I started visiting this forum on a regular basis. And its not so much of an "anti-Bogut sentiment" as its probably just better for both parties to move in a different direction. I like Bogut a lot but he hasn't proven he can stay healthy for any length of time. Whats not to understand about that?

I don't see Washington doing anything unless they include that 2012 pick. If Grunfeld wants to do that, I'm in.

I'll get the Wiz fans over here.

Actually that sounds like the right move to see how far teams are willing to go to get him. You can always deal him after the season when he is healthy and teams have more cap room if nothing big shakes out.

He's talking about within the franchise, not on the board.

Wiz have lots of headcases for a headcase exchange if Jackson really is a necessary outgoing piece for the Bucks.

I hope the Stephen Jackson stipulation is just posturing on our end. But, if not, we are prime candidates to accept someone else's garbage 9 million dollar contract in exchange just to get Jackson off our hands. I don't see it as a deal-killer. I bet something does happen.

I think the reason for the lack of appetite for the sustained rebuild strategy, despite it having many advocates here, is that it has never worked. While it's emotionally satisfying to blow it up real good and dream about the tomorrow that never comes, the NBA fates reward only two strategies: aggregate vets or get lucky with a Rose or Timmy when you're NOT in sustained rebuild mode.

Picking up an LBJ or Durant on a team that sucks hasn't won a ring yet and probably never will. The lack of complementary pieces or the likelihood that your star takes his talents to some distant beach before you can replace the pieces you jettisoned to get him in the first place seem to militate against it.

Maybe your definition of success is different from mine, which is winning a championship. If the goal is SportsCenter relevance and a home playoff series, but never winning it all, I concede that a rebuild can turn you into Philly. I guess I just don't see that as a big improvement over our current dismal and sustained mediocrity. Neither is likely ever to turn into jewelry, and maybe, albeit counterintuitively, the latter is closer to a ring than the former.

I think the real reason a lot of sustained rebuilds haven't resulted in championships is because only one team can win the title in any given year. That's not really a good argument against building through the draft, though. The fact is that winning the title requires you to be very good and very lucky when you're building your team. Teams that have made the effort to rebuild through the draft have often had the "good" part down when it comes to strategy, but they missed the lucky part. (Shaq wanting to sign with you, Lebron, Bosh, and Wade wanting to team up, winning the Duncan lottery when you already have Robinson, etc).

And it almost seems to me that you're suggesting being a Cavs fan for the 7 years they had Lebron really wasn't that much better than being a Bucks fan, a point I couldn't disagree with more.

Wiz fan here. Wizards would probably not want any part of Stephen Jackson or his $10 million salary next season. He's toxic, and that's the last thing guys like John Wall need.

I'm just curious to see if the Bucks are willing to part with any other player besides Bogut?

Not sure what you mean by this. The Wizards definitely aren't trading their pick this year and it wouldn't make much sense for the Bucks to trade theirs.

Bogut is still owed a lot of money and his game has shooting has fallen off badly since his injury. Including Jackson makes the deal very tough.

We will give you Bogut and Ersan... we will even throw in Tobes.

You can give us whatever you want back, so long as that whatever includes your unprotected first round pick. :D

Lol, hell no.

Give up a lottery pick for the privilege of taking on an injury prone player that's owed $27 million over the next two seasons? Pass.

For that money Washington can sign Omer Asik, Ilyasova, and keep their lottery pick.

Hi.

I don't see it. The deal would look something like Bogut+Jackson for McGee+Rashard Lewis. It would likely end up being roughly cap neutral for MIL next season, b/c Lewis's unearned incentives knock his cap number down to $13.7M (He could theoretically be bought out for less).

The Wizards might add in some combo of young asset -- Vesely, Jordan Crawford, Shelvin Mack. They probably won't include Booker and definitely won't include this year's first rounder. Probably wouldn't include any first rounder; our owner believes in building through the draft and is very unlikely to trade future firsts.

If Bogut is healthy, not sure I see why the Bucks would do this. If he's not, I don't know why the Wizards would. I'm guessing this is just pre-deadline hot air.

Best of luck to you guys.

Wiz aren't giving up their pick. A Bogut + Harris for Blatche + Young + Roger Mason (as a throw in) works. Only thing is that Young has to agree to a trade to Milwaukee for it to work.
