Not in Bayern or Cologne, but sometimes in the German NT. He was actually ok but his defensive tackling was awful. Playing him as a pure winger is not useful, he is too good as a finisher - think Thierry Henry lite.
So how exactly does AW plan on using him? Surely he isn't coming over to be an expensive backup?

No, he would cost 20 mil. €.

13 mil, definitely better than 20

Re: Arsenal FC
I'd say losing RVP is far from a lock. Mancini from Man City just made a comment about how any club would love to have RVP but that he thinks he's staying at Emirates...
I think we'll be active in the transfer market this summer to give RVP some big reasons to stay.

Re: Arsenal FC
I think they'll lose RVP. He's good enough to be leading the line for Madrid or Barca now.
A hell of a lot relies on if Arsenal can sneak into 4th. Spurs have started wobbling form wise, if they get 4th they'll at least have a chance to keep him. If they don't get Champions League football he's gone.

“There’s always going to be Knicks fans, though,” Williams said. “They’ll sneak in. They’ll find a way.”

Re: Arsenal FC
^ Sneak into fourth? They're in 4th now, if they catch Spurs they'll be third.
Just curious, what do people think RvP's value is? Lots of people are saying he's gone, but how much is going to force Arsenal's hand to sell him?
He is nearing 30, and has had a lot of injuries in his career. It was as recent as last season people were saying Arsenal should move on and buy a new number one striker because Robin would never be fit.

Re: Arsenal FC
well, he has only one year left on his contract. so I'd say 30-35m is the maximum.
a lot of teams might be interested. but he wouldn't be the first option on every team. barca? they play with their false nine - messi. they don't need a striker as a regular starter. madrid? they got benzema and higuain, maybe they'll sell higuain and then rvp would compete with benzema for being the first option - they don't really have scoring issues atm, no real need to sell higuain. in england? united - nah. chelsea - nah. city - probably, but they have to pay attention for the financial fair play and got already some good strikers (can afford tevez acting like a lil girl...). italy - there we have some options, inter, milan and juve are looking for strikers, especially juve are in need of a good striker and they'll play CL football next year and gonna compete for the Scudetto, great team again. but would he go there? probably not...
so yesterday I said him leaving is a lock. but if you think about it... don't know, don't know... thing is: if Barca are calling - he'll go there, don't matter if he'll be the first option (he won't), Barca are a winning team, historical team, best in the world. just being a part of it - that's probably a huge thing for somebody like rvp. henry went there, he played an important role but was only a sidekick, he accepted the role, but was part of the best team in this era. will rvp do the same?
a lot of questions, sry for my english

Rosicky to sign a new 2 year contract. Good move bringing him back IMO.

He shows flashes and is definitely our most creative central midfielder, but I wish we'd sign a proven talent instead. We want to find the next Fabs and its not an easy thing to do. I would've loved Mata, but we're too cheap to do that. Hazard would be ideal, but again, were too cheap and he wants to go to spain.
Interesting to hear Wenger say that he thinks Ox's long term position is in the middle of the field. You have to hope that one of Ramsey, Ox, Wilshire or Rosicky step it up soon.

Re: Arsenal FC
Hahahahaha Ramsey. That guy belongs in the Championship or League One. I think Wilshere will step it up, it's just a matter of being fit. Rosicky is creative when he's not exclusively playing as a winger. I still don't understand why he wasn't in a more creative role inside from the beginning...since that's what he did in Germany and for the Czech national team.

Re: Arsenal FC
Ramsey is a very talented player, and part of our future for a long time hopefully. People seem to forget he was just a young player breaking into the side before he had his leg snapped in two by that idiot from Stoke. He came back after a year out of football and stuck straight into the side. He needs time and seasoning, but he's good, just not ready to be the hub of the team game after game. It wasn't long ago people thought he was a better prospect than Wilshere.
Rosicky is good for squad depth, and leadership. He was inside more at the beginning, but his injury problems meant he could never get a sustained run in the side, and he became a bit part, fill-in player. He's been great the past few weeks, hopefully he can keep it up.
Chamberlain looks to be moving inside to a more central midfield role eventually as well. Wenger has said since he signed him he sees him in the future as a central midfielder and not a winger. Looked fantastic against Milan before his injury there.

Re: Arsenal FC
Big game today against Newcastle. A win today combined with the Spurs loss to Everton will see us just a point back of third. Curious to see what our squad will look like with many players coming back into the team.
I'd probably go with:
Chesney
Sagna-Kos-Verm-Gibbs
Song-Arteta
Walcott-Rosicky-Chamberlain
RVP
But he could give Ramsey back his spot ahead of Rosicky, and I wouldn't be surprised to Gervinho over Chamberlain. Santos could play a part as he's back in full training. Gibbs should keep his spot though, as he's played well since his return and could use a run of games. Here's hoping he stays healthy this time, he could be one hell of a player.
I'm saying 3-0 win

^^
If he gives Rosicky spot to Ramsey I will go mental.
only 2 that can change from the one you wrote
is Gibbs / Santos
and Ox / Gervinho

Re: Arsenal FC
I would think he'll stick with Rosicky, and bring Ramsey off the bench. He's certainly the in form player there, and has earned the chance at an extended run in the side.
He'll probably start Gervinho, because he keeps talking about not overplaying Chamberlain too early.

that would be my guess as well. plus, he might start trying to work him into the center midfield more than the wing after that comment.
this is such a big game, nu is good of course, but a win in a week with liverpool and spurs losing would be huge.

Re: Arsenal FC
Chamberlain was fantastic in the middle of the park, but I cant see him taking out Arteta or Rosicky right now. Chamberlain is certainly great to have off the bench with his versatility. With him, Ramsey, Song, Wilshere, and Coquelin, there is certainly a lot of young talent in the middle of the park.
