I personally would of ranked Rory Mcdonald higher but I can understand why he's so low.

They need to do a better job of putting him against better fighters.

Its as if UFC doesnt want to rush his development.

This. They don't want him to win fights to get to the top of the ladder because they know it's unlikely he'll fight his team mate/training partner GSP.

But then again, i think he's ranked just about right. I think he really needs a jump in the level of competition before we can really put him up there and not just base it on his potential.

Welterweight is the deepest division right now in MMA by a large margin IMO. That, combined with Rory's lack of big name wins hurt him. He has tons of talent though, and is poised for a run at the upper echelon.

Sick prospect, but he lacks a marquee win, fights in a super deep division, and is also technically coming off a loss.

It wasn't really a loss... Ok, counts as a loss but even White if i'm not mistaken said Erick would be treated like he won the fight, Yamasaki and his silly mistakes... but I do understand your point.
