Snidely FC wrote:John Hollinger writes today on Insider "Deadline Trades That Should Happen."

He says CHA should trade Boris Diaw to DAL for Lamar Odom and $2 Mln cash.

Says Diaw would help Mavs since he can take shifts at center with Dirk at the 4. Also notes Diaw's "adorable little habit of passing up open layups to kick out to jump shooters won't be as problematic in Dallas as it would in, oh, say, Charlotte."

Notes the cash allows Charlotte to buyout Odom and removes $2 million from the Mavs' salary-cap next summer when they go free-agent shopping. Bobcats pocket whatever they can from Odom's buyout amount for the rest of the season. The only lingering problem would be Dallas wanting a handshake agreement that Odom would go someplace in the East (i.e., New York) once he's bought out and not haunt them in the Western Conference playoffs.

I would want to keep Odom just for the Lulz!

Same.

E! Presents ...

Lamar and Khloe go to Charlotte

Could put MJ's girl in there, some of the cheerleaders, give me an eye candy reason to watch that channel.

Seeing that Bogut is on the block, he'd be a great complement to Biz but there's no way we could trade for him and both sides be happy. He's too injury prone for my liking anyway.

Hoopsworld says they believe Houston is the likely destination of Gasol, but the Lakers wanted Kyle Kowery and that was not going to happen. This is where the Cats could be a 3rd team in the mix via DJ and other stuff. Wonder what mix of players/picks we might get in such a deal?
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

"Sources say the Bucks will only entertain trades from teams willing to take back Stephen Jackson.

“The price (for Bogut) is high,” one interested suitor told ESPN.com this week.

Must be donuts in that bag because I can't see Frenchie getting pudgy off bread alone.

We really should. Then Cho can brag that he acquired Andrew Bogut and Biz for Livingston, a mid-first rounder, and whatever crap we would have to send to Milwaukee (if it's a straight salary dump, I'm assuming Diaw).

That's a damn caper.

I seriously doubt that MJ amnesties Diaw unless he is 100% sure another team will pick him up and absorb a lot of his salary.

I also doubt we are going to get any takers in a trade.

So that leaves a buy out. What are the buy out rules? Does it have to fall within a certain percentage of the existing contract or does it just have to be a number that both parties agree on?

:D  :o :-? Trade checker 6060044 THIS MAKES ALLOT of SENSE?

Out: DJA,Diaw, TT

In: Jeff Teague, Za Za, and Josh Smith(MJ can talk him into it.)

I think both teams might be interested
Atlanta gets the point they wanted/needed in DJA along with TT who starts for Josh at 4 and Diaw is better off the bench at 4 or 5.
Charlotte get Veteran backup 6'2' point to run second team and backup KW, Scorer in Smith who starts at 4 , at 26 still young. and ZA ZA to fill out 3 man rotation at center and still 2 2012 1st rounders (1 in top 3)
KW, JT ,Hig
Hendo RWill Carroll
Mags UPS (Rotate RWill and Josh)
Josh DJW ( rotate Mully,Biz)
Mully, Biz ,ZaZa ,Diop
End of this season--Amensity Diop and release /trade /Keep ?Hig to make room for rookies incoming in 2012
draft.
44-38 2012-2013 season making playoffs

Alot of expirings after next season to evaluate talent. Also allot of veteran players who "want to play" for contracts resulting in increasing value in trading expirings and developing young talent.   :P

We wouldn't amnesty Diaw anyway. Why use that on an expiring contract? That's a lulzcat move and the era of Cho makes me hope we're done with such moves.

I think the buyout figure has to be one both parties agree to. I don't think there's a minimum or maximum.

If we can't move him or if he won't agree to a buyout of a very low amount, we're better off keeping him on the inactive list for the rest of the season. If he wants to play for a playoff team, I bet he'll take a small buyout to leave.

Because if we amnesty him and another team claims him they pick up some of his tab - which would make it cheaper for us than the 9 mil he is owed.

Would save much more money amnestying a different player than Boris. He's down to about $4 left on his deal. A buyout could maybe knock a mil off that
