Why? I'm agreeing with what everybody on the 1st 2 pages said. Does the truth hurt? Hell- read any of the other threads addressing the Lakers' problems, and you'll see the exact same things. As I said before, I'm not trying to start any problems. I'm simply pointing out that many people see this as a new revelation. But it has been going on since 1996, but people always seemed to turn a blind eye to it because of the winning!

That's not what I was saying, nor was it what I was trying to prove. I'm simply pointing out that the things that you guys are complaining about today are the same things that I, as a Laker fan from 1996, was complaining about since 1996! And that it's funny how fans defended him to the death up until now. But somehow, I'm labeled as a hater.

I love the Lakers, always have.

But my opinions are completely unbiased.

Kobe is what he is.

He's Sleepy Floyd, John Starks, Derek Harper, Allen Iverson and Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf on steroids.

He's a fantastic player when he's hot, bonedheaded, arrogant, and undiscplined when he is not.

It is what it is.

The Lakers, for once, need to either build a team around him based on his strengths and weaknesses or dump him and start over.

Honestly, I think that the Mike Brown hiring has more to do with it than his teammates. Kobe doesn't respect Brown. I really think that Baby Buss made that hire to send a message that it is HIS team. And I don't think Kobe appreciates that too much. This may be his way of rebelling.

I think Kobe has a problem realizing that he is the best player in the world, but he needs to use ALL of his skills. Not just the scoring part!

But you weren't a Lakers fan. You were a tourist. That makes a huge, huge difference in your perception.

Kobe has 5 rings so it's hard to convince him otherwise, especially from a guy like Mike Brown. He's much more disciplined in the playoffs but in the end Kobe will be Kobe. His best years statistically resulted in squat and we all know how happy he was. The guy DOES care about titles. This team has holes regardless of whether Kobe is playing perfect basketball and being a team player. He's certainly not helping us win right now but I don't completely blame him for the whole situation. It doesn't seem like he thinks we have enough to contend and I can't really argue with that either. He is untradeable so if they don't add the pieces to help us win now, then we'll just have to sit and ride out the rough ride. Even though he makes my blood boil on occasion, I still love the guy for what he's done for the p&g.

I agree with everyone, I feel Kobe is actually holding the team back and more concerned with winning a scoring title than playing winning basketball. The sad thing is if he did play inside out he could probably shoot over 50% with a career high in assists AND we'd be destroying teams. Gasol/Bynum is the best front court in the NBA and we're wasting it away with Kobe shooting more FGA's /game than them combined (don't know if that's actually true but feel like it is).

This. How the heck could he possibly be sending a message for help. If anything guys would be saying I'm not going there, I can't get any shots with Kobe shooting more than anyone in the league.

Yes, he is shooting more than both combined on most nights.

I wouldn't feel the same with Kobe gone but everything has to be perfect for this team to win a championship. KOBE HAS TO PASS!

We have to wait 5 more days to see what this team looks like, then we can address changing the O.

I would rather have Kobe shoot a fade-away than Artest shoot most of the time.
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

While I definitely agree that Kobe could be playing differently, and better, this is overboard in my opinion. It wouldn't make nearly as big a difference as you're suggesting because we've got a severe shortage of talent on this team.

We're pulling dead weight at two positions, we're on pace to finish with one of the league's worst 3-point percentages in almost a decade, and we're pretty much an expansion team after our top three. And a bad one at that.

Look at last night's games. Fish and Artest (twice) had wide-open looks from 3, and I mean WIDE open, that could have iced the game, and they bricked all of them. That has been happening over and over and over again this season.

Watching Kobe beat his head against the wall isn't and has never been fun; indeed, it's the main reason I've never totally warmed up to him as a player, even after all the highlights. Nor am I impressed with what our head coach brings to the table as an offensive strategist.

But there are crippling problems with this team that no superstar or coach can overcome.

lol at this tittle thread. I can see it in the gb, but not here. I think we give Kobe his fair share of crap and have a laugh at his expense. exhibit A would be that thread from the warriors troll. still bugs me, as if liking Kobe makes you an automatic apologist.
