I may watch, but Magic has rubbed me the wrong way lately.

Won't be watching this. That's a pain I can remember like it was yesterday. I feared for his life & all my prayers went out to him & his family and at the same time I knew it was going to cripple the organization a long time.

Deep I really think you need to reconsider that stance of personal feelings & realize & remember what that really meant for us at that time.

Why has Magic rubbed you guys the wrong way?
I'm not sure there's much Magic could do to get me to think that way, other than to perhaps renounce all ties to the Lakers and say he hates them. The dude's got too much good will from me.

Hey, A!
I haven't posted as much at the beginning of the year. That Stern **** rubbed me the wrong way during the off-season. I'm getting back into it though lately. The playoffs is when the real fun starts.

Re: ESPN Films - The Announcement - Sunday 6pm
I can separate the two Ankle, and I can take anybody criticizing the team even Magic. But it's his way of doing it in front of his ESPN cronies that suggest to me he's only talking the way he does to impress them, to show them he's not biased. F**k that man, you played for that team, you built that teams mystique, built a fan base that cherished you. Yet when he talks I sense something different about him and his ties to the franchise.......don't know what it is but it'll come out like sh*t always do.Anklebreaker702 wrote:DEEP3CL wrote:I may watch, but Magic has rubbed me the wrong way lately.

If I live to be 100, there will never, ever be a basketball player I enjoyed watching more than Magic.

Yall see the interview with Bill Simmons? Magic Johnson was close to signing with the Knicks when Pat Riley was there but Jerry Buss wasn't having it. Magic was loyal to Jerry so he didn't sign there. Imagine that NY team damn, and those NY-CHI battles in the playoffs woulda been EPIC.

Re: ESPN Films - The Announcement - Sunday 6pm
One of the worst weeks Of my life.
I was in the 4th grade and watching his retirement announcement made me literally sick for a whole week. Missed school for a couple days didn't play in my NJB game on the weekend an I was dropping twenty plus every game as a 9 y/o.
Then the ASG in Orlando were he was voted in and took home the MVP.
Followed up with the Olympics with the birth of the Dream Team were he took home the Gold medal to send him out to retirement in the right way.
As for his short 96' return to the Lakers and his coaching days ,
it basically didn't even happen in my book.
