Interesting.. So perhaps our "biggest weakness" of defending small ball lineups could potentially be mitigated by a front court of:

Hill (or maybe Dudley or Childress) - can guard SF or PF
Warrick
Frye/ Gortat/ Lopez

Who would have thought Warrick could be our missing piece :o

We tried Warrick at the 5 last yaer with the bench unit, with Hedo, Dragic and Chilly. That lineup would've been quick, but it was by no means effective at all. Warrick isnt the missing piece here.

Although, I would love to see Warrick get some time with Nash as another pick and roll partner. Maybe, like LS said, we can run with a fron court of Frye and Warrick, alongside Nash while Gortat is having a rest

Of course you can't play Warrick at the 5, his athletic advantages may be able to make up for his defensive shortcomings in some instances at the 4, but he's just too small to play the 5.

I remember that one ridiculous game where we started Chilly at C but can't recall ever seeing Warrick at the 5.

Exactly right. I didn't see the game, but I looked it up. They outscored us 47-24 with Durant at the 4 and Ibaka at the 5 (and Harden at the 3).

Is there any way you could maybe sign up for an account at bright side of the sun and post this there? I've wanted to use your data to draw attention to this trend, but you can explain it much more effectively than I can. Or maybe if you write a blog post on fromashes I can write a bright side post that links to it.

Just found an easier way to tease out this stat. Quick results on this:

This season per 100 possessions against the Suns:
    Luke Walton +51.4
    Al Harrington +44.0
    Antawn Jamison +34.2
Umm...
:jawdrop:
I scairt of Jamison tomorrow.
