EG/Harden

Post#281 » by TheProfessor » Sat Mar 10, 2012 9:32 pm

Looking at the class of 2012, 2 names that are not getting alot of action on the raptors boards is Harden and Eric Gordon. I would not hesitate to throw 13m a year for anyone of these 2 and ship derozens bipolar butt for a young mid lotto. Rolling out with something like
Starting PG: marshall, Bayless
SG:Harden,Gordon
SF:Barnes, JJ, Kleiza
PF: Bargs/ Davis
C: Val/Amir
Pretty solid lineup with the solid room for improvement

I remember the Harden vs. Derozan debate. Looks like that's settled.

I wouldn't pay Harden or EG 13M though. EG is always injured and Harden is like an upgraded Barbosa (not worth 13M though).

It was settled before it even started... it wasn't ever a comparison for those of us who watch other games.

I understand EG has injury concerns but we need high end talent and that is what EG can potentially provide, as well to say harden is an upgrade over barbosa is to Manu is an upgrade to barbosa. it just doesnt do any justice.

3rd season Harden: PER 21.0, TS% 65% and Winshare of .232
3rd season Manu: PER 22.3, TS% 61% and winshare of .240

Would u pay a 23year old manu ginobli 13m a year?

What's the deal with Beal?

I've watched one of his games & a bunch of youtube highlights. I haven't seen anything special. He looked pretty average to me.

What am I missing?

nothing really great about him, but everything good. Rebounder, play maker, scorer (can do just about anything on offence), and a great team player. Solid all around, but not superstar as of yet

Exactly, he is just clutch at doing what is needed.
When they need to rebound, he rebounded the ball.
When they need scoring, he is taking it to the rim.
When their post players have position, he passed the ball right to them and scored.
When his teammate missed the final shot, he tapped him and cheer him up.

He showed his quality and extremely high IQ (not only limited in basketball).

21 PER, nearly 17 ppg, 3.5 dimes, 4.3 rpg as 3rd option. I'd say that is significantly better than Barbosa. Add in the fact Harden is much younger and still getting better. Plus his beard is awesome

Terrible comparison...Harden can be much better then Barbosa is.

I would also be very reluctant to give Harden $13mill/yr BUT I would be willing to pay him slightly more then Bargnani if that's what it took to get him on our roster. You're talking about a guy that could probably average 23-24ppg at the level of a Ginobilli and is still young and going into his prime.

He will demand more then Bargnani and his paygrade will be in the neighborhood of Noah, Horford and Rondo who are ALL getting $11+ mill/yr. Also keep in mind that this is the FIRST season people have actually thought Bargnani has been considered to actually be WORTH his contract. Rewind this board to last year and everyone is claiming he's overpaid.

**to the OP....this board ALWAYS talks about these 2 btw, you just clearly haven't looked.

You've missed a lot. One game isn't enough you know. Go to the draft thread and you will see alot of discussion on Beal. Even today against elite competition (Kentucky), he played extremely well. Everyone on the draft thread sees a lot of things special about Beal. Dig deeper, you'll know more about Beal's game.

Add to the fact, that he only takes about 11shots a game, thanks WestBrick. His Raw stats would be so much better if he was a second option and next bargz

Bad comparison, Foyes during his freshmen season isn't even much of an all around player, poor defender and weak rebounder and not even physically tough. The comparison is far off.

Okay I dont seem to understand the thinking here, people on this board are reluctant to pay 13m to Harden but yet are willing to trade for Rudy Gay??

I'd give up DD for harden any day of the week and twice on sunday. As for Gordon, he's not for me. He's too small for the 2.

I dont mind throwing money at Harden but Rudy Gay is legit too though, he is a borderline all star SF. I totally understand why people want him on our team.
