I personally develop a bond with all of our lotto picks except Ed Davis and thats prolly cuz of the log jam we have at the 4. But Bargs, Demar, Val, and prolly whoever we draft this yr is the squad I wanna run with..

Have you seen Turner play? He's basically the opposite of Demar, and would be a much better fit on our team (this coming from one of DD's biggest supporters). He's got shot creativity, excellent rebounder for his position, good play maker and has better length than Demar that will actually let us slide him over to the forward spot if need be. He's struggling to find a role in Philly because he needs the ball in his hands to be effective but he's coming off the bench playing beside a shoot first pg in Lou Williams, and now that he's starting again it looks like he's coming around.

I wouldn't pay Harden or EG 13M though. EG is always injured and Harden is like an upgraded Barbosa (not worth 13M though).

21 PER, nearly 17 ppg, 3.5 dimes, 4.3 rpg as 3rd option. I'd say that is significantly better than Barbosa. Add in the fact Harden is much younger and still getting better. Plus his beard is awesome

Yea Harden does so much more than Barbosa they are not even in the same league and like Al_Oliver said thats being 3rd option on a contending team. However their are times when OKC sits Durant and Westbrook and give Harden the keys but thats mainly against the other teams bench, but then Harden also plays crucial 4th quarter minutes and succeeds imo. 13 a year is a lot but I think he will thrive when he leaves OKC he is itching to be a #1 or #2 option.

Agreed the beard is elite.

I'd gladly to a Bargnani S&T for James Harden.

but okc wont.

Id have no problems giving harden his money. EG I would because of his history with injuries.

We need a more dynamic SG and if Harden becomes available, BC better get on the phone asap; I dont care how attached he is to Derozan.

Agreed.

I've said on various threads many times to watch the Harden situation. If we have the right offer, things could be good for us

Collins has no beef with Turner and Turner's been beasting it since being inserted in the starting lineup. Something like 21-12, although only 2 games. Highly doubt he's available.

i'd take harden, gordon, or turner for demar any day. harden and gordon for obvious reasons, but even turner has many valuable qualities that demar can't match.

in only 24mpg he's averaging 8.3ppg, 2.7apg, 5.9rpg - wow - and pretty much matches derozans shooting ability.

this season however, in games which he's played 30+ minutes he's averaging 16.1ppg, 9.3rpg, 4.3apg on similar shooting numbers as demar. obviously i don't see him producing the same numbers consistently, in our system nonetheless, but he'd be a large upgrade over demar.

I wouldn't mind Young like it was mentioned on the first page (not reading through 22 pages to see what peoples opinions were).

All I know is, I have him on the Raps in 2k12 (gave up Kleiza and Gray and a 1st) and 10 games in, he's getting me 14ppg, 7rbs, 4assists, 4 blocks and 3 steals a game.

Turner would be great as well, but I've liked Young ever since the Sixers drafted him, I was hoping we would get another first rounder to draft him when he came out. Sadly, we never seem to be able to get a deal done to acquire additional picks at the draft.

Is Young a free agent this year? Why did I think he was re-signed by Philly last year?

I've always liked his game, though I don't think he's a great fit for the current roster. That being said, the current roster stinks so why worry about someone who fits? A Steve Nash/Thad Young signing would be a fun team.

Youngs got a 5 year contract unfortunately, just checked. So only way we'd get him is via trade.

Ideas for a potential call up

Post#335 » by eitanr » Fri Mar 16, 2012 1:27 pm

With the Raps making the Barbosa move, they may now be open to checking out a d league call up or regular free agent. Likely looking at the 1 or 2 slots moving forward,

Please feel free to add to this list and player reasoning behind the call up:

1. Mo Almond - Drafted by Utah years back Almond never really got a lot of burn in the NBA and has shown nice ability to stretch the floor as a shooter, a skill that is lacking in the league. He is 26.

2. Justin Dentmon - Justin is a lighting quick PG, also only 26, and is more in that Will Bynum mold. He can get to the lane and score in a flurry off the pine.

3. Donald Sloan - Another PG, efficient shooter and scorer....also nice assist rate for the D league

4. Edwin Ubilis - Nice shooter and nice size for a 2-guard. At 6"6 he can get his shot off and is an efficient scorer to boot.

2k12 is a video game, right?

I agree with the above post that Mo Almond is good fit with the raptors.

I also like JamesOn Curry as a backup PG who gives us a very different look (tougher) than both Bayless and Caldy.

I would like to see Lin and Nash (as a mentor) on the roster.

Lin's P/R game is perfect for JV and AB. With his aggressiveness in attacking the basket, he will do much more than JC does for the team on the offensive end. His defensive abilities are already better than JC. With Nash as his mentor, he will only improve over time.

Just find a way to trade JC and get it done.

The first player who comes to mind is JJ Barea. The T Wolves could move him and he's familiar w/ Dwayne Casey. Barea didn't really follow up his amazing 2011 NBA Playoffs like I hoped he would. He was a difference maker in each round of the playoffs. He would be a great fit here.

Donte Greene/Jason Thompson. Kings can't keep both of them. Relatively low risk. Greene can play 3 positions.

Delonte West. Seems determined to play somewhere and getting a 2 yr deal for 3 mil for the Raps would make sense. He's always played with a chip on his shoulder and can defend. If he buys in, we're suddenly not as soft.

--

If the Raps really go after Brandon Jennings, we could see a trade similar to the Charlie V for TJ Ford deal where we give up some size. I just hope it doesn't end like TJ did.

Anybody have any thoughts on these or other players you think could be slick adds that help the Raptors make a playoff push?

What about Rodrigue Beaubois?

Post#340 » by Marlo Stanfield » Thu Jul 5, 2012 4:26 pm

His value is down, but he's a young athletic point guard with tons of potential. Why not buy low?

The kid has a 6'10" wingspan, a 40 inch vertical and has elite slashing ability.

Here's his DX profile: http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Rod ... bois-1298/

I just think if a kid like that is available at a low cost you can't really go wrong in trying to acquire him. Dallas can use a lot, they only have 7 guys under contract.
