Re: Trade Deadline Approaching
I think Perk will get amnestied when the Thunder look to re-sign Ibaka and Harden. That's when the rubber is going to meet the road.
It's a business and if it comes between losing Ibaka or losing Perk through amnesty, adios Perkins.
I agree that Presti will treat people with respect but that doesn't mean they can steal money because of their contract. Perk has been pretty underwhelming. I'm pretty sure he's aware that this is a business, otherwise he'd still be in Boston.
Amnestying Perkins isn't showing a lack of respect, it's showing business smarts. The Thunder need a front line guy who can go rebound.
With Ibaka being the prolific weak side shot blocker that he is, he takes himself out of the play for the rebound. There has to be a cheaper better version of Perkins out there on an NBA bench some where. 6.4rebs in 25minutes should be rebounding numbers for a SF.
Personally I don't think the Thunder need a back up PG or another shooter. Just give Harden more minutes.
These guys are kids they should be about to play 40+ minutes during the playoffs. Especially with the three day breaks between games.
Once again this teams biggest need is a decent center, because Perkins isn't getting it done.

Re: Trade Deadline Approaching
any hope for Cole? his biggest weakness is lateral movement, but everything else is really good for a center. Long arms, likes to bang in the post, active, smart, good passer, good hands, can block shots.
He needs more experience and game time to know the defense inside and out, but I think he has the potential to be real good for us one day.

Re: Trade Deadline Approaching
From what I've seen this season, from best to worst center on Thunder:
Collison
Aldrich
Perkins
Our PF/C rotation should be:
Ibaka(36) / Collison (12)
Perkins (20) / Collison (12) / Aldrich (16)
Hope Thunder can get a good offensive big man by the deadline.

We could probably take Boris Diaw for a bag of peanuts. He's not great but he's probably better offensively than most of our bigs.

Hope there are some moves, I don't trust our bench to score the ball.
I really envy Minny with that Pekovic guy.

OKC should make a move for Chris Kaman n Vasquez, or Boris Diaw n Augustin. Or Hinrich

I just checked on ESPN trade machine and Ibaka, Perkins, Nazr and Ivey for Dwight actually works well. Also if you substitute Ivey for Cook it works.
Actually, that would not be a bad deal for either team.
OKC's roster would look like this:
PF - Collison
SF - Durant
C - Dwight / Aldrich
SG - Thabo / Harden
PG - Westbrook / Reggie
We would be missing another PF though...

That'd probably mean we'd be signing someone up from the D-League or playing Durant at the 4 and Harden/Thabo at the 3.

Would you trade for Howard without an extension?

Harden would not be involved then.

Re: Trade Deadline Approaching
What about Cook for Bledsoe?
Clippers are reportedly shopping Bledsoe for a shooting guard,
If Thabo comes back healthy we should be able to afford losing Cook and Bledsoe would be a big help behind Russ.
