BelgianMagic wrote:Keep Dwight? Not if the Magic could trade him to Chicago
The Orlando Magic would like to seriously engage the Bulls in trade talks for Dwight Howard, but the All-Star center's apparent reluctance to make a long-term commitment to Chicago has all but killed the discussions, league sources told CBSSports.com.

The feeling among rival executives remains that the Magic seem intent on rolling the dice and keeping Howard for the rest of the season, hoping a long playoff run, emotional ties to Orlando and an extra year and $29 million they could offer would persuade him to stay beyond this season. But the move would be highly risky, given that Howard has refused to publicly commit to the Magic -- a stance that sources view as a strong sign that he'd leave as a free agent if he isn't traded.

"He's telling everyone he's leaving," one league source said Sunday.

Interesting... I still think that Howard won't be traded by the deadline

#Magic CEO Alex Martins met with D12 & at least 1 key Howard adviser Friday to outline Magic's marketing plan for 2012-13.

The main reason I think the Magic would entertain a Bulls trade is the Noah / Florida connection so they don't lose so many fans. I can see a bunch of trade proposals now with a 3 team trade of Gasol / Noah/Deng / Dwight.

This is getting weirder by the day.

At first, we had this guy who was loyal and would stay here for his career.
Then, we started to think he might leave and turn us into C-leave-land Part Deux.
Nope he tells the fans at a BBQ he's staying, not going anywhere.
A season goes by and we get spanked. Dwight surely will request trades to be made to fix the roster.
Nope. He requests to be traded himself. We go "WTF NOES!"
Everything is doom and gloom, Orlando is about to be turned into a parking lot for sure now.
But, one day we're optimistic about a trade that makes Dwight stay.
Next day, we get "news" that he still wants out and we get sad.
Day after that, he's staying and we're all "YAY!"
But no, the following day, he's still leaving and will be traded, just when and to where.
Then, a rumor emerges, Orlando is about to land a big fish and Dwight is all giggly. Hooray!
Nope, hold your horses. He might still be traded and no trades to appease Dwight seem to be happening.

Can't the 15th just hurry up and end this nonsense?! I want to get on with real basketball, not this drama.

I take Dwight for his words now. Right before all star break, it is a Big Chance he stays.

But, unnamed sources say otherwise.

I don't believe in that trade with Chicago.
D12 and Rose in the same team, i'm not sure that D12 and adidas want this.
Secondly Boozer take minutes to Ryan.
Deng is a great addition but Assiks as starter center :-?

So he's reportedly telling everyone he's leaving

He officially still has a trade demand since December

He still hasn't committed to the Magic

and the Magic want to roll the dice and hope he stays ?

I believe he's being "wishy washy" as others have stated..he doesnt want to gut his new team:

(Read more here: http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/21 ... _In_Summer )

I wish the Magic would just realize this (maybe they have) and just move him.

I feel like they are kids in a relationship trying to pretend their parents aren't getting divorced.

Why don't they seem to get it ? He's been here 7 plus years and they are still trying to convince him to stay in these last 4 days ? Just stop this nonsense...

If they want to have one last run with D12 and hate the offers...then fine...dont trade him...

But if they hoping for a miracle and all this "emotional ties" and stuff like that, it's not happening

I'm so burned out about this but at least the team is playing better so there's some hope for a playoff run.

MAGIC FTW WITH OR WITHOUT D12 !!!

if we are doing a d12 for vets, I would try to engage the knicks for melo and chandler.

Melo/Chandler or Griffin/Jordan.

Those are the only 2 combinations of vets that I would consider trading Dwight for.

I'll be on suicide watch if we trade Dwight for some Chicago package, will do nothing but stick us in mediocrity.

Martins better have a great plan for the summer to convince Dwight... I hope he can sell snow to an Eskimo.

Any Dwight trade absolutely must send Hedo/Baby with him...it would be great if we could send Duhon too, but we HAVE to get out from under Hedo and Baby's atrocious contracts.

If a team would take Hedo/baby/duhon with dwight they could send us an opened bag of chips and I wouldn't be too upset. We HAVE to get out from under these god awful contracts.

I agree ... I get so mad at teams asking for Ryan and JJ ALONG WITH Dwight... they can't have their cake and eat it too. If a team wants Dwight, they better be prepared to take on Hedo, BBD, or Duhon.

It also amazes me that nobody's talking about having to include Duhon too .. How can anyone still want this guy on a professional basketball team?

He can't even get the ball to mid-court anymore

This.

I do not believe that article regarding us being trade partners with Chicago. If we are going to trade him, I really hope it is to the Western Conference and to a team where they have assets that will actually help us now and in the future.
