Much props to Kobe for trusting a teammate with the game on the line.

The win vs. the Heat was good. A win vs. the C's is just that much better. 4-2 so far this month. Should be 6-0.
It is a good day in the city of Angels.. Great weather. Blue skys. Being Sunday. And beating the celts.

Against artest you need to move off ball and if you do that he can't keep up with anyone anymore, not even scrubs like garcia, hayward, etc.
You just don't like the poor guy lol
I hate him more, but i'll give props when he plays well
which is almost never

Something I'm noticing is that Bynum is starting to put the ball on the floor in conjunction with his face up game. Like literally he'll be at the top of the key looking to hand off and if no one gets open he'll drive himself and use use spins to shake his man off. On another note I'd like to see him work on a Timmy D bank shot whenever he's open on the elbows-seems like he's usually off the mark when he shoots mid range jumpers from there.

the Brown time out was bad because he waited until there were 13 seconds left on the shot clock, but at the time I thought it was a good idea to set something up instead of Phil Jackson it.

Only thing is....nobody moves off the ball that well in the NBA, and further more teams playbooks consist of screens mostly for guards and not wingers. Boston is pretty much the only teams that runs Allen off screens because he can't beat anybody off the dribble.DrewBynum77 wrote:Artest always plays well against moronic SFs with kobe-like ego that want to beat him off the dribble...

Some here are over blowing how Metta's can't play defense. When Metta can body up on you and the other bigs wall off the interior Metta is hard to beat, doesn't matter how fast the other guy is suppose to be.
Truth be told if guys here think that in the NBA you play defense in a one on one setting all the time, you're fooling yourself. The Lakers defense is designed to push players to certain areas on the floor and funnel them to Drew or Pau. No guy is going to stay with his man stride for stride every single play.

Re: Lakers vs Celtics | Sunday 12:30 | ABC
On the surface about half and half will think the TO was bad. The Celtics were going to get a shot off no matter what. So the TO was basically to get at least a quality shot, but now with the "waive off" of the original play and going to Drew it makes like it was a smart move.snaquille oatmeal wrote:the Brown time out was bad because he waited until there were 13 seconds left on the shot clock, but at the time I thought it was a good idea to set something up instead of Phil Jackson it.
But the reason it end up being OK, was because the Celtics weren't going to foul....they knew they were getting the ball back regardless.

Yup I don't understand how people still don't see this. Especially in the wings, Kobe and Metta basically shift and force the player baseline towards a big on purpose many times. My only beef with Metta is on the offensive end...On defense he hasn't dropped much worse than 2010, when we were trying to rally for him being DPOY and when he gave Durant trouble in the first round and basically shut pierce down in the finals.
Edit: Don't get me wrong..I still think he's trash and we need an upgrade in the position. I'm just merely saying that his defense is fine...his offense is just so bad his good d doesn't make up for it. That said he'll be more valuable come playoff time, and he has played well in big games.

Re: Lakers vs Celtics | Sunday 12:30 | ABC
i was just watching the end of the game, and there was a few plays where ray allen got wide open and hit 3s. wtf is fisher even doing out there? on one of the plays he goes down to cover KG who is almost behind the back board with bynum coming back down, and leaves allen wide open at the top of the 3 point line. he does that all the time, trying to switch onto bigs. plz fire him.

read my sig. only one guy on this forum hate him more than than me
but my analysis on him are emontion-less. He can't defend people off screens. he's terrible when you make him move off the ball and attack the basket on the motion.

you don't need to move "that well" you just need to move.
he's TERRIBLE. He lost most of his mobility and quickness. That's why the scrubs I mentioned and plenty more can clown him. From his prime days as a D speciliats he only have left his dexterity and his amazing hands.

also, underrated pick by gasol to free up kobe for the go ahead basket. just some good basketball by the lakers to end the game.

that was great. Pierce didn't expect it..
these are the little things that can make a "put the ball on kobe's hand at the end of the game" more efficient. Teams know we'll going to him so just make little adjustments to facilitate kobe's Shot...
oh and they also drew a great play to Kobe after a time out early in the 4th...
brown's coaching staff showing some progress...
EDIT: Just watched Brown's post game interview and that adjustment on the pick by gasol was Kobe's suggestion too.

There arent alot of players in the Nba who can defend great in those circumstaces..Chasing a guy of screens and having him attack you while hes in motion..Dont single out Ron

We must not be watching the same player...Although he is not as quick laterally, there is more to defense then just moving your feet quick..Watch how he cuts of angles, as well as him using his body. Not to mention what makes his defense next level in the first place, his hands. He has some of the strongest hands on defense this league has ever seen. Ill take ron's defense with half of his 2004 foot speed over 95% of other players in the league. Period
