Who said Meer and Ellis would BOTH start? I think it would be Ellis/Rich/Wright/BBD/Howard. that lineup is >>> our lineup...

Edit: Also, Meer as our primary backup PG would help a lot, mainly because we won't have to see Duhon anymore.

I love JJ and ryan as much as the next but come on, if you can get ellis you do it. So what if dwight decides not to stay... you can still s/t h to the nets or whoever.

A bit torn on this trade rumor. I want Ellis but giving up literally every semi-decent player to obtain him and putting Big baby in the starting line-up seems to be a disaster in the making. I'd be much more confident if a solid PF was coming our way, but that is just to much to ask for. Either way a team with Howard/Ellis is bond to compete in any game.

I am the only one who thinks this deal makes our team worse?

Monta Ellis is a guy who needs to take FGs to be effective, if Howard whines he is not getting the ball with the current team, Ellis would make it worse. Also who the hell gives assists, I despise Hedo but, he is the only one who can pass the ball to Dwight. Dorrel Wright can`t defend a lick, he is a one-dimensional shooter who makes Hedo`s defense DPOTY worthy. Andris Biedrins stinks, he can`t even get minutes on a squad that is in dire need of a Center, his contract is putrid.

After we get Ellis by some miracle we are going to get SJax for JRich and JSmith for Baby and Liggins and be ready in time to put a hurtin' on Miami in the playoffs.
Nelson/Duhon
Ellis/Wafer
Sjax/?/Clark
JSmith/Clark
D12/Beans

Not bad as long as we don't play the 2nd squad all together

Yeah, and having an inefficient scorer as our primary ball handler and having BBD in the starting lineup would be so much better!

Why are people getting worked up about ellis taking FGs to be effective? About 3/4 of our squad is already ineffective by jacking up 3s and missing them. Would you guys rather have Ellis take over the game, or someone like hedo, meer, or ryan being shut down about 3/4 of the games that really matter?

there is just a slim smattering of possibility... barely... but I suppose if we took sjax to give ATL bogut. How the heck the salary matches is up is beyond me and I dont know what else MIL would need... Otis would be worshiped though.

I don't see the deal happening. It also creates a hole, our stretch 4's 16 ppg. But exploring it, I mean I know Ellis obviously will score that but in a good system we need that option still. Harper is going to have the biggest opportunity in his life. Losing JJ and Ryan if it's Ellis seems like an upgrade just barely, we get to rid Hedo who showed nothing last playoffs too tho. Biedrins is 1 more yr than Hedo but should be an excellent backup center and Wright projects as better than Q a lil bit in most of the same styles of playing. I'm not sure how the trade works out for us, it doesn't sound as bad on paper as Pho deal did at least. I just can't figure out how id see Ellis in Orlando, but I do love that we're moving off Turk handling to Ellis and Jameer handling. Look at how JJ handled Turks role last night, amazing. Ellis should be better..

I also think, if GS even does the deal, that since we're all in with Ellis, Dwight. We flip our 1st pick "unprotected" for (unless we're losing it alrdy too, then the deal looks worse too again. But maybe another future unprotected 1st can be traded) and we offer it up top 5 protected only with Liggins for a Ariza or CLee type for starting SF. With that, we get more defense. If not, at least Liggins will have opportunity too. Or we can shop the pick for a new starter 4 too.
