In my mind, ellis will command a double team. sure, maybe some teams play him honest and at that point you feast or famine with him, and just hope dwight and maybe someone else has a good game.

but ya, because he's commanding the double team, he's taking a rebounder away and all those extra shots are going to be easy pickings for dwight.

We are one of the only teams where an ellis is a prototypical fit - and where his shortcomings (D) can be masked.

So this could be very legit then. but, isn't Alex Kennedy one of the untrustworthy guys?

Alex Kennedy is chiming in too now. Not sure where this board places him in comparison with Rudolph. More or less credible? I personally always find Alex to be a parrot who just repeats what everyone else says minutes after.

Edit: Also, Meer as our primary backup PG would help a lot, mainly because we won't have to see Duhon anymore.

I feel the same way Dalic

IMO, there's a very good chance that Stan would opt for a Meer/Ellis backcourt. i don't see Stan opting to bench Meer for many players, TBH.

Nothing is imminent, but multiple sources confirmed the talks. Props to @MisterRudolph for tweeting it first.

....and then goes on to say that nothing is imminent. I hate everything.

This trade sucks. Next year people will be bashing this trade because it set us back even more with bloated contracts. This is like last years trade where people convinced themselves it was great because they wanted a trade for the sake of making a trade.

People need to realize that Jameer/Ellis backcourt is going to be **** terrible in so many ways. Not to mention BBD starting and getting more minutes only to be even more awful than what he's already been.

All this trade does is rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic. But by all means, let's all wet ourselves over this.

One of the times I am v.pleased with time difference between the UK and North America. I'm going to bed, and in 8 hours when I get up either something will have happened or the whole thing will have been debunked. Meanwhile you guys in the US and Canada get to wear out the F5 button and obsess :-)

+1

Ellis may take 16-20 shots per game... but when the going gets tough and our offense becomes stalled/stagnant, because defenders (like Atlanta, Boston, etc) are staying home on our spot up shooters, and single covering Dwight late in the games... we need a guy like Ellis to create for himself and take shots. I don't see that as a bad thing. Lebron, Wade, and Bosh all take a bunch of shots, and they make it work. Kobe takes like 30 shots and both Gasol & Bynum somehow still manage to put up 18/10 a piece. I don't see any problem with Ellis playing with Howard. A dynamic guard paired with a dominant big man... I don't see what the fuss is all about. And if the fuss is about depth... uhh, well it's time to groom and develop Harper at PF, plus we get back Wright, who's a good SF... and we still have Wafer, J-Rich, Ish, and Liggins in the back-court; and Nelson can come off the bench... role players are replaceable. I like Redick and Ryan a lot, but come on... when is the next chance we can get a star guard like Ellis to pair with our star (Dwight)? We haven't had a legit star in the back-court to pair with Dwight since Steve Francis, and back then Dwight was just a rookie/undeveloped.
