portland fan, still prefer Beasley for ourselves, personally. Some on our board will whine about character issues, which is stupid. At this point, i'd gamble on the talent over someone like Augustin. But that's just me, and where our team is at.

If we cant get anything better than Crawford ... just keep Beas.

Yeah I'd hate to add a true shooting guard whos averaging 15 ppg and 4 apg.

Crawford isn't a true shooting guard

Then what the hell is? It's obviously not a guy that can handle the ball, pass and shoot.

Tough one. He is probably as bad as a defender as Beasley but without the potential of becoming an above average defender. Mmmm I think I'd rather keep Beasley and/or go for OJ Mayo. I think OJ Mayo would be a very good fit next to Rubio. Yes, he's a bit undersized at 6-4 but his defense is solid and he is pretty strong (210lbs).

OJ > Webster @ SG ... would be an instant upgrade if could package up around Webster/pick.

I'm starting to think we are very close to moving Beas, but I'm concerned about what we'll have coming back. If I knew he was looking for big $$, then I guess I really don't care as long as we dont take on salary

I think OJ is pretty much in the same situation. He´ll be getting big money at the end of the season (I would say something around 8-9M? -just guessing...).

valid point ... I would not want both Mayo and Beas looking looking at me and asking for too much $$

ohhhhh the tangled webs we weave :-?

I have a hard time seeing either Mayo or Beasley getting more than the MLE. They're both restricted too, so you can let the market set the price and then decide if you want to match.

True ... for whatever reason, I've really come around on OJ Mayo lately and I have not been big on him in the past. I mean Ellington would be a nice reserve. I'm not big on Webster, we have other fat to trim, and a couple picks to use in the right deal ... the time just seems right if we move Beas for a fair deal.

Don't they have to get more than the QO if they're restricted?

Not necessarily. If they got a long term deal that was less per year then I'm sure they'd take that over the QO.

I disagree. The MLE is $5 mil, his QO is 8.2 mil. If I were Beasley I would rather have 1 year at $8.2 than 3 years at $15.6 or 4 years at $21.2.

But that's just me.
