I just read it this morning and now I cannot recall where from, but a listing of the top 10 players most likely to be traded were. Hinrich was listed in that mix and there was a note at the bottom that mentioned that it should be kept in mind that Doug Collins loves Hinrich. If not for this MB rumor, I would have thought nothing of it.

A lot of coaches love Hinrich. He's a good team player, pretty good defender, does little things that help a team win.

However, as someone else noted, he's nowhere near the player he used to be. He'd be good for the Lakers b/c he doesn't need the ball all the time and he can defend. But he's not a pure point guard, not by a longshot. Tends to overdribble and doesn't have amazing court vision or athleticism. Bulls played him mostly at SG during his last year with us, and he can defend shooting guards who aren't really big.

Kirk's big plus is his versatility. If the Sixers were to add him he could play alongside Lou or ET or Jrue. He'd be in keeping with the team's pattern of putting at least 3 guys on the court who can pass very well. IMO he'd make the team stronger for the playoffs than Meeks would. But since he's an expiring, I guess such a trade would primarily signal that the team's done with the Meeks experiment.

I can't decide how I feel about the Hinrich/Meeks rumor. I've always liked Hinrich's game. Farily versatile being able to push the tempo, shoot, defend, and pass. He's a solid point guard to have coming off your bench. That said, how much better do you think he is defensively than Meeks at this point in his career? If you ask me Jodie has been pretty solid defensively... fights through screens, quick hands, quick feet, takes charges. Not to mention, when his shot is in rhythm he can shoot with the best of them. I still think Jodie can be a piece of the puzzle here, but also see the positives in adding Hinrich. This one has me torn.

Jazz talking about moving Jefferson, goodness would he help this team.

I've always thought Jefferson was empty stats and good lord can he be an atrocious defender

He sure gave us some trouble for a bit, but I guess with the way our front court is right now that's no great feat.

Never go after players just because they wreck havoc upon your team.

Al Jefferson is the one really good big man who can score and rebound who is available.

Overall, he would need to do those things in our current system to be valuable. I don't think he could run the floor with our team, and he would hurt us defensively. He would be great to give us a post option and get us a basket in the half-court game.

Ultimately, a guy with that skill level is tempting, but I don't think he would be a good fit with our team.

I just can't foresee anything beyond a minor deal. I think The FO is going to try to make a big splash this summer and won't take on salary that would potentially F that up. Maybe we can nab a Hickson or a Thompson.

Looks like Ellis for Bogut is a done deal...Jax, Udoh, Brown also included.

A big bucket of bad deal for everyone!

Monta & Brandon Jennings in one back court? Get your popcorn ready.

Don't get that deal. Jennings and Ellis is an awful pairing.
But I guess they get a legit scorer next to him.

Warriors finally get a big man, but Bogut is fragile.

Milwaukee could possibly be dealing Jennings as well though. There have been rumors about them shipping him out of Wisconsin. If they do stand pat with him though, that will be a wild backcourt. Whole lotta scoring but a whole lotta turnovers too. It's basically the same as having a Lou Will/Ellis backcourt.
I like the deal better for Golden State. They get their center (hope he can stay healthy), and this paves the way for them to take a better look at Klay Thompson who looks more and more like he's going to be a stud. It also allows them to draft the best talent available come draft time.

It would be a great deal for GS but Bogut can't stay healthy. The foundation of their team is made entirely of glass. It could be an amazing buy low move though.

Jennings and Ellis together could get ugly.

My thinking is Ellis is brought in to help them make the playoffs this season and the $$$ bonanza that is playing the Heat. Then he is traded draft night.

Warriors definitely get the better end of the deal if Bogut can stay healthy. A lineup of Curry/Thompson/Wright/Lee/Bogut has some potential. Still pretty bad defensively, but an upgrade over what they had previously.

Jennings has to be moved now...Jennings/Ellis is a defensive nightmare...they would get posted up by whomever the Sixers had in the backcourt. Like Udoh's potential...wonder how he and Sanders would play together?

At least the Warriors now have a solid pair to build around (Curry and Bogut). Jennings and Monta in the same backcourt? That makes me puke if I'm a Bucks fan.
