I'd welcome Bynum at this point.

The Brooklyn ARENA itself will be a novelty act for a little while but the passion won't be there and the vibe won't be there. It'll be a secondary franchise even if they win. Nobody cares about the Nets in New York. Honestly. Next to nobody.

They are probably the most lightly regarded franchise in any major city in the history of the earth. Even the NY Islanders (who play on Long Island and who are not nearly as popular as the Rangers) have a much larger and more passionate following than the Nets.

NYers just don't do frontrunning. No Knick fans will convert ... not real ones. They may get some casual fans who hadn't watched the NBA up until their Brooklyn arrival -- I.E., non-basketball fans lol -- and you know how that will go. The Nets only hope is to get the interest of non-passionate fans which is like drinking skim milk and pretending it's fulfilling.

I want Dwight to stay in Orlando. But Dwight and Deron in Brooklyn will be bigger than the Knicks. Sorry but in the NBA, people follow stars and winning. Not too mention people will buy **** just because it says Brooklyn on it.

NJ is setting themselves up nicely...got their hooks into Howard or so it seems plus they will resign Lopez for 10 mill and flip him for JSmoove, Granger, Monta, etc, etc. Probably sign SJax if he ever gets bought out by MIL. Not to mention a high draft pick. Grrrrrrr

Derpn
Marshon
SJax
JSmoove
Howard

I will forever hate that team...

I want this to be over. I suspect the NBA is about to be dead to me.

The odd thing is that even if we do trade Dwight, we'll still be in the playoffs. We are too far above .500 not too.

KnicksGod wrote:Whether the Wojnarowski report is true or not, I feel really bad for you guys having to go through this and I really hope you get to keep Dwight somehow.

Woj is a huge Nets homer -- has been for a long time -- so maybe take his report with a grain of salt? Not sure. I definitely know that Woj carries the Nets' water in a serious way. He did his best to steer Melo there too.

All things equal, if he does insist on going, then send him for Bynum, get him out of the conference, and disrupt the Nets and their weak attempts to steal a franchise player. Bynum will put up big numbers and if he stays healthy, could be a big force for years. He's got a nasty edge to him and something to prove. You can build around him. Just my two cents.

Stay strong and hope for the best.

Knicks fans scared.

Anyone who thinks the Nets will gather passion and passionate fans is not from New York.

Dwight, if you're reading this :), I promise you one thing: The Nets will not be popular even with you and Deron. There will be zero passion.

EVERYTHING about basketball in NY -- and I mean everything -- centers on the Knicks and is viewed through the prism of the Knicks. The Nets are always an afterthought.

The Knicks are a storied franchise in NY -- win or lose -- and the Nets are a little footnote.

That will not change. You will be a second-class citizen in your own city.

Does anyone know the details on a potential Hawks + 76ers trade?

unless you would trade dwight for jrue OR turner/ lou/ nocioni's expiring, and our 1st... then theres nothing that philly would do because they arent going to be willing to gut their roster

I'd do it for Holiday and Turner, but 6ers aren't doing that without commitment from Dwight, which he's not going to give.

we would not give up both of them

You really don't know NYC at all, do you. Knicks could be the biggest garbage team in history and they would still be huge. Fans might boo the team, but the crowd will sell out. LMAO at brooklyn being more popular.

Basically, this is what I thought. Knicks are famous for New York basketball with a reknown history. You just don't duplicate that with a new franchise in an inner city suburb of New York city just because you got some great athletes.

That's true, without them, you don't really have any young players.
