Come on, Monta, force them to trade you! They've been dogging you for years.

Warriors star Monta Ellis on trade talk: “I probably could go to Orlando or Chicago and get a championship. But if they don’t move me, what can I do? Hopefully – if they don’t move me – they get somebody in here so we can win and I don’t have to go through this every year.”

Dwight, if you're reading this :), I promise you one thing: The Nets will not be popular even with you and Deron. There will be zero passion.

That will not change. You will be a second-class citizen in your own city.

Agreed. I grew up in New York and the Nets are the absolute last team on anyone's radar. Deron changed nothing, and Dwight will change little.

EVERYTHING about basketball in NY -- and I mean everything -- centers on the Knicks and is viewed through the prism of the Knicks. The Nets are always an afterthought.

The Knicks are a storied franchise in NY -- win or lose -- and the Nets are a little footnote.

That will not change. You will be a second-class citizen in your own city.

The self perception that Knicks fans have of their team is really hilarious. For a team that hasn't won a playoff game in over a decade, they really have this idea that they are some sort of legendary team or even a championship winning organization. In reality, they are more like the Mets. A team that has a die hard following, but never win, and a highly dysfunctional ownership. Yet every year "is there year".

If Brooklyn has Deron & Dwight, they will dominate NYC. It's just the truth.

i really do not like the unearned entitlement nets fans (who are they, really?) display, but i would say the same thing even if i loved the nets like i love transvestite hookers.

new york basketball is the knicks. nets have to have two dozen winning seasons and a couple of championsips to be in the discussion. new arena and two stolen stars would not make up for the culture and legacy.

It's not your fault bro, don't even talk like that man. Besides the trade deadline isn't over yet so let's see what happens first before we start reacting.

Blame Otis if anything.

This. Can't stress enough how bad that Phoenix trade was for us. At the worst, we would have at least had Gortat here to ease the pain of Dwight leaving but Otis makes a panic trade and gives up every possible asset we had at our disposal.

you have to be out of your mind if you think the Lakers would trade both Bynum and gasol

Multiple NBA sources: Dorell Wright and Andris Biedrins have also indicated they'd be fine with a trade away from the Warriors.

If we never made that trade, we'd have CP3...

But I don't like to look in the past. I say if we could get Bynum and a wing player, I'd deal Dwight. If the Nets have the only offer, then I balk, go to the playoffs. If Dwight walks, that's cool. We'll get lottery picks and be Cleveland, who is recovering just fine.

Thanks guys ... I'm just still kind of upset... we had so much hope going the last couple of nights... pretty much all of my anger is directed towards Magic management, ownership, and Dwight... they all ruined a great thing we had... and yet again, we lost another superstar.

But you guys are right... it's time to pick ourselves up and move on... we've done it before countless times... and we'll do it again... time to fire-sale and rebuild.

I should heed my own advice the first time (from the OP):
-Remember, whatever happens... happens. We will always be Orlando Magic Fans. Forever. Let's do this. GO MAGIC!

Should have taken it when it was available. But we probably held out for Gasol. Bad move, because I doubt Lakers would be willing to take Howard for what is now almost a certainty would only be half a season and then he signs with the Nets.

Maybe, , but could still happen. Lakers are under a lot of pressure to make a big move too.

If they want Dwight, no. It's the only way he lands there imo.

New York basketball was the Knicks because there was no other NY team. It's ridiculous to think that a city that houses 2 MLB teams, 2 NHL teams and 2 NFL (they play in NJ though) teams won't have a rapid die hard fanbase eventually.

Hell ONE playoff win right now would be better than the Knicks have done in over a decade. It won't be hard to get new fans if they have Deron & Dwight. We are all die hards, which is why we post here, but that is not the majority of fans. Majority are casual basketball fans or entertainment seekers. There will be lots of entertainment in Brooklyn.

Could Monta, Beans and Wright voicing their disgruntled positions help us now? Or is it too late?

I would love to get Ellis and Bynum back... or even Ellis and Lee (maybe flip Lee for another good player on a better contract?)

We have less than two days to figure out how to ship out Howard and get the most in return... screw the Nets though

There is no chance we trade Dwight. Media is driving a narrative to maximize clicks. Information regarding FO decisions are closed circuit, no access. What little nibbles we get are as accurate as you'd get if we all played a game of telephone. However, verified information from Dwight himself and the FO clearly points out that we are trying to upgrade the talent, so I'm still strapped in!
