I'm down to burn my jersey if you are... Probably even if you aren't!

Just unreal...
Superstars dont mean you will win anything. Look at the Knicks.
The nets will be better than the knicks because deron and dwight compliment eachother really well...but the nets are the nets and they will never be relevant in the championship picture.

You can not properly rebuild if you try to plug Bynum into Dwight's spot. All you do is turn a 4 seed into an 8 seed. Unless of course Bynum busts his knee again, then we gave Dwight away for free.
I cannot refute your argument. I can only say that what NJ is giving us (an also injured, but not so good, free agent center, a decent chucking SG, and Maybe one late lotto pick in a not so deep draft plus a few late 20ish picks) is basically giving Dwight away for free for sure. I would take my chance's on the sen=cond best center's knees than pure trash.

I like the Bynum deal better- We can still compete as we are currently constructed.

plus 2 1st round picks on the nets side

They are giving us 2 or 3 lottery picks and a SG with a lot of upside. Also, despite the fact that Lopez is about to get overpaid, he is a good player and will have value if we decide not to keep him. NJ's trade allows us to get bad enough to make a proper rebuild. 2013 is a very good and top heavy draft, there are Dwight replacements in that draft if we are smart enough to be in position to take one.

So I guess all the Magic have to do to compete is get very lucky to draft a superstar, hope that superstar gets hurt and allows us to draft another superstar. Simple enough.
Unfortunely D12 never got hurt in these 7 years...
We only got the first half of our necessary mircle needed to win an NBA title outside of LA or Boston.

I actually kind of am. Bring on the second coming of the heart and hustle team!

Compete for what?
thelead wrote:where are these lotto picks coming from. As it stands, NJ is just a few games out of the playoffs today. They will most certainly be better next year. And this draft is week as hell.

I agree but only be deferment. What the hell would this team do with draft picks. They'd become horrible bench players at best. If Dwight goes then Otis be on his way to LA carrying his f..ing bags.

NJ is currently picking 4th with 22 games to play. It will take them time to gel with Dwight and will have little depth. They won't make the playoffs.
