Magic/Wolves trade talks

Post#1 » by mattyBoi » Tue Mar 13, 2012 10:12 pm

"Jarrod N Rudolph"
League sources have told me the Magic are having discussions with Minnesota regarding a trade for Jason Richardson.

Beas for Rich makes sense, but it'd be nice if we could squeeze a pick from them.

I'm sure the Magic would like to think someone would take him, lol
I extremely doubt this rumor. JJ I can see, not Jrich
$5,799,625
$6,204,250
$6,601,125
No way Kahn pays that deal over the next 3 seasons. He's already 31 years old and declining;

Beas for JJ is far more likely from our point of view.

Rich is much more reliable but I'd rather keep Beas for the rest of the season.

Beasley, webster, toliver, randolph, miller will all be gone next year. Who else do you see coming to the wolves as a sg. for what he can do for that money he makes webster look like Darko. Maybe he can help teach Wes how do get to the rim. Beasly will garner atleast a 5 year 40 mill. I'd take him and decline websters team option. another proven scorer won't hurt

J-Rich is 31 though. That's getting up there for a gaurd. I'm not comfortable comitting long term to that kind of player. Maybe if we were a better team and I knew we were in win now mode I'd be more comfortable with it. At this point though we aren't even a playoff team yet.

Also, I can see Webster coming back for a good price. I don't think he will be starting though.

Not a fan of his contract at all but like gold said, which other decent SG would we have a chance at?

I'd be nice if we could get a pick out of it or attach Darko with Beasley. Richardson is old but can help push us into the 8th seed and succeeds with a pass first PG ala Steve Nash. His contract is 4 years including his PO so he'll make himself comfortable here.

I think this indicates the Magic wanting to hold onto Redick.

Best guess:
Kahn asked if he was interested in Beasley for JJ Redick.
Orlando's GM countered with "How about Beasley for Richardson?"
"How about JJ Redick for Beasley and Memphis's pick?"
"How about J-Rich and our 2013 top 10 protected pick for Beasley?"
"Damn, I have to think about that."
"Yeah, me too."

The only trade for Richardson I can accept is the Darko swap.

I think picking up Jason Richardson isn't the best option for our SG need, however he's not the worst and is solid. He can still get you on average 12 to 14 PPG and isn't needed on this team to be the number one,two or hell even three score. We have Love and Pekovic as our top scores and Derrick Williams as our six man.As long as J-Rich can give us 14-12PPG and hit some open J's on a consistant bases he'll be a fine fit.

C-Nikola Pekovic
PF-Kevin Love
SF-Martell Webster
SG-Jason Richardson
PG-Ricky Rubio

Bench:

PG-JJ Barea
SG-Luke Ridnour
SF-Michael Beasley
PF-Derrick Williams
C-Darko Milicic

That a very strong playoff caliber team. With one if not the best benches in the league.I doubt that Beasely probably returns so really our only needs would be and up grade at the SF spot. Then if Love,Rubio,Williams and Pek can keep improving their games like it look to be we could actually be a title contender sooner then you think.

Looks like Jrich has a bad ankle. He is sitting tonights game vs the Heat. Might be since the trade is done or getting done or that this trade is total bs and Jrich is just really got a bad ankle

Hmm.... he could help up us but I wouldn't want to trade Beas' expiring contract for him. I think his deal is pretty close to fair market. If we had signed him for that during the offseason instead of Barea I would have been cool with that. Whose salary could we send out? I don't see how we could part with one of our point guards. We would have to part with Wes or Darko for me to be okay with it.

I dont think we move darko takes away some depth at the center position. And even though wes has been a huge huge disappointment Im not ready to give up on him for an average player past his prime on a 4 year deal.

Is this the same Rudolph guy who had the breaking 3-team trade yesterday that went from imminent to maybe 50/50 to could be posturing by one of the teams in less than one hour by the same guy?
