This made my day. This is a guy that could legitimately be the best player on this team in a few yrs along with Cutler when guys like Urlacher Pep Briggs get old

How often, HOW OFTEN can you get a top 5 WR just entering his PRIME for 2 third round draft picks? The Bears committed highway robbery today, I don't even want to know how it happened, I'm just too **** happy right now that it did. Huge pick up. Emory is a genius

If I compare that to Jerry Rice during his prime, Jerry Rice ends up with 5.82 receptions a game. That number is from 1986 to 1996 for him. Brandon Marshall is someone who can haul in a TON of balls for you. The biggest difference here is that Rice averaged 1405 yards per season to Marshall's 1188 yards per season, and he likely dropped a lot less balls than Marshall.

If I take only Marshall's Cutler years as a starter, his averages go up to 6.64 catches a game and 1,295 yards per season.

nice. I prefer the fit over VJax, and it has nothing to do with being Cutlers security blanket and friend. Marshall doesn't have to go deep every single play to contribute. And with the Bears line, by the time VJax was open 20-30 yards down the field, Cutler might have been looking out his earhole.

Very true. If it wasn't for the off the field horror show, Marshall would be in talks as one of the best receivers in the game with Megatron, Andre the Giant, and Fitzgerald among others.

Those three underlined names are the only guys that I would put "above" him. I might even put him ahead of Andre Johnson after reading the breakdown of stats that you provided.

I'd certainly have Marshall in the top 5 receivers in the NFL regardless. His numbers/talent is unbelievable, but unfortunately so is his rap sheet.

Get Mario Williams and sore up the O-Line now. With the moves he's made so far I have no doubt that he will get the job done.

Also can we get another receiver so we never have to speak of Johnny Knox ever again?

He's always reminded me of Randy Moss in so many ways. They both:

-come from small colleges
-slipped in the draft because of "character issues"
-have basically the same physical build & height
-freaks of nature athletically that go up & catch un-catchable balls with ease
-outspoken & rebellious
-SILLY-type troubles while in NFL
-POTENTIAL to be the best to ever play the position in the NFL

Even if we don't get Mario Williams, we have put ourselves in EXCELLENT position moving forward with Marshall alone.

The only thing that really holds Marshall back right now is that he doesn't score a lot of TDs at all for the amount of receptions/yards he gets. That is something he can work to improve going forward.

Hmmmm. I'm going to guess DUI. I don't think he has any of those yet.

 Schefter ended his tweet with this: More shortly at http://t.co/ZPIJvDiK.

I'm thinking that he or ESPN is trying to break whatever news it is. Maybe they're confirming more facts.

There is no way the Bears traded for Marshall without knowing about a potential problem unless it happened today. If he misses two games, so be it. Still like the deal.

I have a feeling that this won't be that major. Just a random guess, but we shall see "shortly" or whatever Schefter means.

What a terrible pic, haha. Clearly the Broncos type face on the numbers there. And surrounded by Vasher, Archuleta, Grossman.

Did your eyes hurt like mine did when I saw two of those three "NFL players"

Statement from Brandon Marshalls Attorney Harvey Steinberg regarding Club incident:

"On March 12,2012 Brandon Marshall was the key note speaker at a charitable event in New York. After the event was over he, his wife and close friends attended a function at a local club.
While at the function a fight broke out NOT involving Mr. Marshall or his friends. While attempting to leave to avoid the melee Mrs. Marshall was struck in the face by a thrown bottle. She suffered serious injury.
While attempting to leave and take his wife to the hospital, the mayhem continued outside. Finally Mr. Marshall was able to take his wife to the hospital where she was treated for serious injuries.
Mr. Marshall is hoping to assist authorities in regards to this matter."

Well, if all of that is true, we have nothing to worry about. Thank you for posting that.
