Hell at this point I would almost consider Thomas for Jackson straight up since Jackson atleast expires next year.

What about this
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=7lwx8rj Nets send Rockets pick to Hornets

Hornets send 2012 their own unprotected pick to Bobcats Bobcats send part of Livingston's tpe to Nets. I think it is crazy but if the Hornets are desperate we should do it. The potential owners may care more about saving money then lottery picks. Our cap would be screwed but 2 top 5 guaranteed picks? 44% chance at Anthony Davis? Let's do it. This will help MJ prove to us that he isn't cheap. Hornets saves 5 million this season and next season would probably have 50 million in cap space.

Wow... Okafor, Thomas, Davis, and Biyombo? how many defensive power forwards do we need? Though Okafor at least has decent C size.

Who cares. We would have 2 top 5 picks guaranteed. Bobcats likely going to use the amnesty on Tyrus. We could flip Okafor to Houston or Boston or Spurs in the off season. That leaves us with Davis and Bis and we could use the other pick on Drummond to finally have a true center.

Over David Sterns dead body.

When Amico 1st tweeted it I was like wtf, but if the new owner would rather have a clear cap room then a top 5 pick it's his loss our gain.

I think it would be even funnier if we somehow ripped them off in a trade again.

TT for SJax and a 1st

Heck, if we made that trade then I would just cut S-Jax and happily keep that first round pick.

I'm just thinking about all that defense on one front line.

Howard now stating that he wants to stay the rest of the season with Orlando, and he wants " one more shot ". If the Magic fall for this than they are the dumbest organization in professional sports. He obviously just doesnt want the team he is traded to gutted to get him. Will be an interesting next 36 hours.

howard is turning out to be as big of a douche as lebron. he has put orlando in a no win situation. if they trade him he will always say "well, i said i wanted to stay in orlando, but they traded me" if they dont trade him there is a massive chance he leaves and they get nothing.

I'd trade him to the worst team with a decent bid.

This may actually help us in our trade with New Jersey since the Nets are sitting back now thinking "hell we will now get him without having to give anything up, probably need diaws expiring now for more financial flexibility ".

That was their plan from the get go, wasn't it? To (re)sign dwight, deron, brook, and a FA wing?

Lebron never claimed to want to be traded- just to rescind his statement because he wanted to go to a team with talent still on it.... Lebron simply took advantage of an opportunity to join with fellow allstars in a new location- I don't think that at the beginning of the season Lebron was scheming about how to F*ck up his team or leave them with nothing so he could go to a team full with talent.... Howard on the other hand is actively claiming he wants the Magic to keep him so he can have one last shot to win it all- but in reality e wants the Nets to still have talent around when he joins up.... which is definitely F*cked up....

Haven't been a Dwight fan for a long time due to how much of a fake funny guy he is. Being a ginormous crotch socket is just the icing on the cake. ****'m

That's a horrible trade. If NO was willing to give up a 1st rounder, I highly doubt it would be their own, the highest one. But if they are serious about getting some expirings and getting cap space to make the franchise more sell-friendly, than Okafor + 1st rd for Diaw and White (or Najera) makes more sense and something I'd consider.

Okafor back in Charlotte? For a NO 1st and only if the deal has then taking Diaw, Carroll and Diop, too. I'd be OK with Okafor backing up Biyombo and Byron. The pick would not be their own pick. Would likely be the unprotected Timberwolves pick, which would still likely be late Lottery.

Edit: We could only send them Diaw and Diop - not Carroll too. But those two to NO for Okafor and the Timberworlves 1st? IDK if I can back that one. It would be us taking on an extra 6 mil in 2013 salary and then another year of Okafor at $12 mil for a late lottery pick. Is that worth it to you? Dont think it is for me.

Probably a ploy to get D'Antoni fired, like he needs help. Melo is a selfish baby.

I don't have any problem with a player asking for a trade or signing with another team. They don't owe the teams any more loyalty than the teams show them, which is none at all. I dislike Howard because he throws a temper tantrum every time he deservedly gets his second foul in the first quarter. Also, his part in turning the slam dunk contest into the lame-kia-jumping-joke it has become.

its not so much that howard is asking for a trade or might sign with another team, its that he keeps flip-flopping about it and being very unclear of his motives. if he wants out he should say so now and at least give the magic a chance to recoup some of their loses. then if the magic fail to trade him the magic are the blame. if he publicly says now that he doesnt want to be traded persuading the magic to do nothing this trade deadline and then leaves for nothing as a free agent this summer, that is a jackass move that will set the magic back tremendously.

as others have mentioned, i have a feeling he knows he is going to dallas or new jersey this summer and doesnt want either of those teams to try to trade for him now since it would potentially hurt their depth once he is there, so he is pretending to want to stay in orlando. its just a gut feeling, but if this plays out this way over the summer then dwight will prove he is just as big of a d-bag as lebron.

the magic don't have a good play here unfortunately. they know their best chance at winning at title is having dwight stay long-term, but they also probably realize that dwight staying this summer is the least likely scenario.
