Wonder if the Bucks knew or had a strong feeling about the Bogut of the future that forced their hand on this.

So Dwight wants to stay in Orlando for this season. Then, he can sign with the Nets in the off-season without New Jersey having to give up any assets to get him.

Respect lost.

PS: It also appears true that Orlando and Chicago had agreed in principle to a Dwight (and parts) for Deng and Boozer trade with the caveat being that Dwight said he wouldn't sign an extension with the Bulls upon trade completion. Are you kidding me? That's instant titles in a big-ass market with some of the best fans in professional sports.

Dwight is clearly trolling the Magic. He wants to be traded in December to NJ, nearly does get traded, Orlando management stops it, he wants to be traded all season and now he wants to stay to "bring a championship" and thinks they can make a run.

What an idiot. Whatever team trades for him is stupid and should know there is no convincing that guy. He is set to go to New Jersey/Brooklyn or go to Dallas to team up with Dirk and bring Deron there too. Those are the only two places I see him ending up.

I think Dwight has a problem wanting to be liked and not wanting to disappoint people. Aside from that--can you blame the guy? His situation sucks and he's been there like 8 years. He wants to move and try something else. New Jersey looks like a perfect fit if he signs with them in the offseason. If I were him, i would tell the Magic brass behind closed doors that I'm not resigning with them and I'm not signing an extension if traded to another team. I think that's what he owes the magic--a straightforward answer.

I don't think he owes them picks and players coming back, or resigning himself. If he wants to move on, and he wants his new team not to be gutted, that's his prerogative.

The other consideration here is that the media is and has been hounding him about this for a long time. Star players who want to leave are going to end up looking bad no matter what, so it's hard for me to assign too much blame to him. Lebron was a huge d-bag because he manufactured so much additional drama. Howard's misguided effort not to hurt anyone is creating some drama, but a lot of it is being created by others around him.

Well they haven't had a decent center since January when Bogut went down.

I think its a fair move. It gets rid of Jackson who is terrible right now and a real drain on the roster. Bogut was done for the season so they are already used to him not being on the court. Udoh can defend if nothing else. Not sure how the Jennings / Ellis thing will work but I think it's obvious you can't count on Bogut to stay healthy. And the descent in his play over the past few seasons was very noticeable. Golden State has a lot money tied up in injured and/or unproductive bigs (Bogut & Biedrins).

Yeah, the Bucks situation was already what it is. I'm not sure it's any worse or better with that trade. And at least Kwame is an expiring, and they're happy to erase the mistake of acquiring Jackson. If Ellis comes in with a good attitude, that would go a long way to making it an okay trade for them - and their backcourt will at least be entertaining. If he comes in with a bad attitude, it's gonna be a bad situation. How Ellis and Skiles work with each other will be interesting in itself. I guess Udoh and Sanders battle for time. They're awfully similar in their strengths and weaknesses. I guess the hope is that the competition between them inspires 1 or the other.

This is an extremely helpful move for us. Golden State appeared to be the top suitor for Javale McGee. With them out of the picture, McGee's free agency value may plummet. We need to continue to perpetuate this notion that McGee is a compete idiot and borderline cancer so we can scare others away. With luck, we can resign Mcgee to a much more reasonable deal, say, $7-8M a year.

You can add Melo to the lists of douches as well. Apparently he wants out of NY because he isnt getting enough isolation plays

Resigning McGee to ANY size contract would be unlucky for the Wizards IMO.

Totally agreed. McGee has all the talent in the world but he is stone cold dumb. NO ONE can continue to make mistakes the way he does for the last 4 years and secretly be a genius. Let's not Etan this one up.

Hollinger had a very interesting breakdown of the deal. He liked it well enough for the Bucks. Dat, I'm a little surprised you like this just because you've always been the enemy of mediocrity. This move just seems to take the Bucks one step closer to being the Eddie Jordan Wizards.

Maybe that's their thinking a little bit. "Hey, we're 22nd in defense already. might as well try to light up the scoreboard and out run teams. "

I dunno. Seems like they're going nowhere, especially since they're likely to land outside the lotto.

Also, by adding Kwame's expiring, MIL can now decline the option on Livingston and have max cap room in the summer. I'm not sure what their exact path forward is, but they've got options.
