OK, quick poll....somewhat hypothetical (though looking kind of literal)....IF we do pick one and only one of the following two options in the next day, curious as to what people THINK we will do and what people THINK WE SHOULD do (answer both if you want) between:

NJ package: Dwight + Duhon for Okur, Brooks, Lopez, Humphries + 2 1st rounders

LAL package: Dwight+Hedo+Duhon for Bynum+Metta+Fisher

thats a top 4 team in the East if Bynum can stay healthy. I do think he will be a 25/12 type player with more offensive touches and his 70+ free throw %

I would do this in a heartbeat.

We should do either one, and I think we will do the NJ one. Only because LA is probably scared of Howard not resigning.

Remember when Dwights baby mama Royce said "He's gonna leave in the summer, sorry but he's gone"... and all you guys let her have it? LOL

i personally think the ceiling is ecf and i am OK with a hard fought 6 game series at that level. could happen if dwight gives 100%.

BUT

I think the main reasoning is there is very little real difference in trading him or letting him walk. People really over-value late lottery picks.

I believe we should be in full rebuild mode. This gives us a decent draft pick this season and a better chance at sucking next season and hopefully picking up a bonafide stud.

Dwight has torn this city apart and created two different rivaling ideologies on what to do with him. Another reason I hate him, tearing apart the magic fan base.

You know, you're making compelling arguments in your posts. I've never believe anything BS, Bianchi, or Stephen A has said. Why should I start now? Cause it sounds good? Negative.

I just don't get this thinking? If Dwight wants to stay then why not just sign the extension? Why scuttle the Monta trade which would give us a better chance of winning a championship? A guy that he himself named as a player he would like to play with?

Well in fairness, he won't sign an extension because he would be throwing away millions and millions of dollars. So I totally get it when Fegan said an extension was out of the question.

But once we (reportedly) had a trade for his new sidekick Monta, why wouldn't he commit to either (a) opting in / not opting out for next year, or (b) resigning with the Magic now that they made a commitment to get the players he wants to play with?

That one makes no sense to me, and indicates he is leaving no matter what - otherwise he would have at the very least agreed not to opt out and spend 2012-13 in Orlando.

How awesome would it be if we traded Dwight for Bynum and then the team played with such passion that we actually won a championship beating the Lakers in the finals!!! How bittersweet would that be!

If Dwight really does take us for a ride and just walk with no regrets this summer after this "I want to win a championship in Orlando, so roll the dice" stuff yesterday, his image would take a mega blow and his likability factor sorely suffer. Now you don't want that now do you Dwight?

In my mind this is an actual realistic trade idea that could happen. Oh and IBTL!!

ZeusIsLoose wrote:This is really an easy decision: Keep Dwight. We are going to suck next year regardless. what, just because we have Brook Lopez we will make the playoffs? Umm, no we arent. and NJ picks arent going to be that great either. suck ass next year and in 2013 get a high draft pick. by that time Turk is tradeable at 6 mil only, trade J rich now for Beasley to get rid of that contract, Jameer is off the books. have the opportunity to sign a good FA that offseason and get a good draft pick. Whether we have Lopez and Marshon doesnt change the fact that we will still suck. We arent making the playoffs with those two. I have to think long term and that is to keep Dwight, let him walk, suck next year (which will suck), get a high draft pick and sign a solid FA and start rebuilding. This is the best option for us.

and im NOT taking Bynum on his 80 year old knees. i cringe everytime i see him go up for a rebound thinking his knee cap is going to bust.

Unless the Magic can get a Superstar that keeps them in contention, then why trade to keep the team a mediocre 30-40 win team. I would rather play the young-uns we have here and win 20 games while getting a decent pick in 2013 with over $30 million in cap room to work with.

That right there blows away any trade offer out there now. I would enjoy a team with Ryno, JJ, Liggins, Harper, Clark getting major minutes.

On the other hand, if Dwight ends up resigning, then we are in a Dream scenario. Why are people here thinking it is the end of the world.

I have spoken to many Magic fans today outside RealGM and every single one is happy Dwight is staying. Most are season ticket holders. Only people here are pissed off. I am starting to think people here are 2k12 fans.

So Melo has asked to be traded & Orlando officials are talking about Dwight's comments today ..

I'd be happy with getting Melo/Chandler for Dwight, I know some of you won't, but that's a great return

I still personally think, if ATL is willing to "rent" him, which many reports claim they are, and are willing to give up Horford+Smoov, you do that IN A HEARTBEAT. That's an amazing young frontcourt to build around, both on good contracts for their productivity imo. A frontcourt of Smoov, Ryno, Horford would be sick. All you would really need is a legit PG and that team is nasty. That's always been ATL's real problem. What about this:

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=8y5ufe9

Resign Ryno this summer, then, in the summer of 2013, you have the room to go after a star PG.

Teague/Duhon
JRich/JJ
Jsmoov/Turk
Ryno/BBD
Horford/BBD
