I've never given it serious thought before but guess I tend to agree with you Wanda (I had a hard time typing that -- How the hell do you pronounce your name?)

I'd rather lose the athleticism, defense, and penetration of Ellis for the steadiness, shooting, and playmaking of Curry.

For more money, I'd much rather send the Warriors Gasol, Blake, McRoberts, Barnes, and Morris for Curry, Lee, Biedrins, and Wright.

would do it every time, but why wouldnt philly prefer Gasol to that utah package? i dont really see anything enticing about it.

I was just assuming Jefferson had a little bit more value being 27 yrs old, as opposed to Gasol's 31.

The problem with this offense is that it has no one that can penetrate. Ellis is much better at it than Curry. The entire dynamic of the team will change with Ellis. Now as far as the deal itself I'd ask Golden St. to take on that Walton deal:

PG- Ellis, Blake
SG- Bryant, Ellis
SF- MWP, Barnes
PF- Lee, McRoberts
C- Bynum, Lee

Both Lee and Ellis can play 36 minutes per game which is big since that means you solve bench scoring issues as well.

In the half court:

- Lee is spacing the floor with his mid-range, crashing the offensive boards in a way Pau Gasol wishes he still could, Kobe is on the elbow, Bynum is in the low post, Monta is at the top for an easy kick out (spot up or drive in for an easy mid-range) and Metta is on the opposing wing (strong side).

If you can get Wright in the deal that means you have excellent floor balance. Compare to that how the current group works:

- Stationary shooter at the top who you can run out on and not worry about his drive (can't shoot anyway), Kobe on the wing trying to create a mutilated version of iso, Gasol in the high either shooting a deep mid-range or feeding Bynum (you don't pay 20m for that), Bynum in the low, and MWP trying to space the floor.

We should try to get Felton for Blake/McRoberts and then get Beasley for TPE/LAL 1st round pick. I hope Minnesota is dumb enough to take our lower pick. Then dangle our 1st round pick from Dallas around rebuilding teams and steal a solid bench player from them.

I'm officially oppose to getting Dwight because that puts too much damage to our chemistry.

After those trades I'd say we're in pretty good shape for a championship run.

When are people going to realize that the Dallas pick looks more like a future pick each day? If the Playoffs began today, and the Mavericks didn't win in a first round upset the Mavericks pick would be #17 overall, which would be great if we hadn't allowed such rediculous protection on the pick. The pick is top 20 protected until 2018, where it is unprotected. So unless that pick drops to 21 or lower (which is beginning to look highly unlikely) we won't get it in the 2012 draft. That also makes it a less desirable trade chip than our own pick.

VIPER8382, good point on the DAL pick. I would be surprised if they don't make the playoffs and win a first round, but with those protections, it would be a better pick to trade IMO as well.

Trade the TPE and a 1st for Ersan Ilyasova. Ilyasova could be expendable as Milwuakee just traded for Ekpe Udoh. Ilyasova is very underrated and has been playing well as of late. He can play both SF and PF and is athletic, a decent ballhandler, and is a good shooter and rebounder.

Simple three team deal

LA gets Sessions
HOU gets Morris, Ebanks
CLE gets Fisher, Flynn
*Ideally any picks given are 2nd round picks and of course cash considerations/draft rights to some players are always up for grabs*

Lakers-Obvious even though trading Fisher would seem unlikely. However, Fisher is rumored to be in a Dwight deal so I guess he's not untouchable 8-)

Houston-Flynn is their primary backup PG now with Lowry out. Admittedly Morris may not be much better but he is younger and cheaper with more upside. They also get Ebanks in the deal, adding to their collection of cheap, talented wings.

Cleveland-Flynn essentially replaces Sessions as backup PG. Not as talented so of course Kyrie gets more minutes to spur his development. Fisher replaces Baron as a true veteran leader who will definitely be able to mentor Kyrie the right way.

why would we trade for a PF unless we are trading Pau? we have GLARING holes at two other positions, no point in giving up any assets for a guy who would come off the bench for us when we have clear problems in the starting lineup.

Would rather have Josh Howard than Raja. And why not cut CHI out and send Pau to Utah im sure they'd want him more than Boozer.

Jerryd Bayless

Post#1080 » by thegamefritz » Wed Mar 14, 2012 3:43 pm

I was wondering how about if we get Jerryd Bayless.
If we can't get an all star/superstar PG now atleast we can get a PG with so much potential and great future.
We know this kid can play, and he can drive and shot's 3..
He plays like Westbrook except his D is not that good.
We won't be giving up much, I guess we can get him w/ fillers, a 2nd rd or D. Ebanks perhaps..
For sure he is way better than DFish.
What do you think?
