I think I'm over Dwight... but I'm also over another idea.

Yesterday I was so worked up trying to convince Magic to trade Howard... I still think you shouldn't take a chance on him, so he bolts during the summer and we get nothing back in return for him.

Then it occurred to me... it's probably better he walks away.

Of course our franchise will be embarrassed and look like complete morons for letting the most dominant center in the NBA leave for nothing (AGAIN, Shaq)... but if we're going to rebuild, we might as well have Dwight leave and have that salary come off the books in order to clear cap. The end of next season a lot of contracts will have expired or will become an expiring contract (trade chip). We'll also have a better draft pick.

Either way, keeping Dwight to finish off the season (so he can leave this summer to a non-depleted Nets team that will still have Lopez and Brooks) or trading Dwight to a rental team (F the Nets, we should look to get the best package in return for Dwight)... it doesn't matter to me now. As a fan, this situation is numbing.... BUT it's nothing new... I've been here before with Shaq leaving, Penny traded, Grant Hill's ankle injury, T-Mac traded, and finally here and now with Dwight's situation.

We'll be fine guys. Keep your heads up. No doom and gloom.

They are 4.5 games out of the #8 spot. If you give them Dwight then with 23 games left they could catch up and possibly sneak in to the playoffs. So that pick may not be that valuable. Any future picks are guaranteed to suck and not be in the lottery.

So how does this help???

I would probably do a Richardson for Beasley straight up deal. Richardson has been on the bench more than the floor this year.

Steve Kyler is a narcissistic idiot who think's his half-brained rumors are what keeps the nba going. So happy with my twitter feed since I unfollowed him.

Trade Dwight. Trade. Dwight. Dwight, trade him. This isn't rocket science. ROLL THE DICE? Are you serious? My facebook is blowing up with even the most casual fans calling him out on that. You don't ask the team that drafted you and paid you MILLIONS of dollars to roll the dice when you've shown NO sign of wanting to be in Orlando after this year. Just the... AUDACITY it takes to even suggest that. I've been on Dwight's side for a long time but this year has been unreal. I wish I would have been in the restaurants around here when he takes his crew out, just so I can see how dumb the idiots behind the scenes really are. I just imagine a lot of HS drop outs thinking they know how to control a multi-million dollar brand and telling Dwight how much Orlando sucks... hell they probably don't even know other states have different state income taxes.

Get him out. Now. For the love of the Magic. This season has been fun, but it's not worth going through the next few seasons with bloated contracts and complete mediocrity.

And this team has been great when JJ's playing .. + That would give Liggins/Wafer more minutes & those guys have also played good when they got some minutes

We could clear even more cap and get picks if we trade Dwight now for Jersey's expirings (Okur, Humphries, Lopez) and send them Hedo as well. And potentially get picks back.

This is WAYYYY better than the capspace Dwight leaves us with by walking (not much considering we'll have to pay Ryno and BBD, Hedo, and Duhon still are owed $20+million next season)

one thing that will sway my opinion about keeping howard is if the magic "magically" some how find a team(s) to pawn off jrich, hedo, duhon then I would be ok with him leaving. We still would be stuck with bbd but Im pretty sure he is worth something to somebody down the road. So that scenario is win now and rebuild with max money later is the best one. But if they dont you gotta trade him.

If we traded Q-Rich and Duhon for Beasley... that'd be great. We could clear two undesirable contracts. :D

Yeah. I really respect Stan Van Gundy. Howard is losing my respect so quickly these days. I think my respect to Howard these days worth one cent.

There is a ZERO chance that Dwight will be traded now. Because. . .

Dwight just stated that he has told the Magic he wants to stay for weeks.

Magic trade Dwight now, Magic look like the bad guy when Dwight wanted to stay all along.

Roll The Dice is the BEST OPTION. Otherwise, nobody will ever want to play for this franchise if we trade players that want to stay.

I just want this thing to be over with. Let them make a decision on what they think is best and lets roll. Either way I'm over it.
