I kinda want him traded to be honest. This team needs to move on and this can't happen with Dwight on the roster. We'll basically be waiting for the bottom to drop. I say move him and move on.

Whatever happens, I'll remain a fan of Orlando and Van Gundy, but I highly doubt what ensues will be best for the organization. Dwight has made ALL THE WRONG comments. He, unintentionally, has ruined our leverage in trades, and the possibility of the team "appeasing" his so called desire to win in Orlando.

D Wade played free agency perfectly, given, he was on a team with all the cap room in the world, but he wasn't back and forth with the media. Leaving Miami in control, and solid within. Whereas, Dwight's made it nearly impossible for the Magic to negotiate.

Personally, I'd love for Dwight to stay and make it to the finals, but i know dwight, and i know the second we're a couple games back to whoever, he'll have his bags packed, and will be on the phone planning a slumber party with Deron. I also wouldn't mind playing hardball with the Nets, and trying to pry Deron off their hands(they know they're rebuilding if they can't land D12 and who better to have on a rebuilding squad than JJ and Ryno?), but Dwight's shot down that notion.

The question now, I believe, is who offers the best package for Dwight and I gotta think it's NY. Melo > Bynum. I don't care what Skippity Doo Daa Bayless has to say, Bynum is not a franchise guy. Melo is..

...that is so untrue it isn't funny. Melo is not a franchise guy, he is a black hole on offense and is selfish with the ball. Bynum would slide right into the Howard role here and would not miss a beat.

This team is build for a big man in the middle and Bynum would fill that need. If we were built differently then maybe Melo would be a possibility, but not how this team is currently constructed.

Since the only GREAT PLAYERS in this year free agency is really Dwight and Deron, then wait till 2013 or even 2014 what brings or holds...Heck we can flip our first round draft picks for trades to a star and sign 2 max contract in couple of years, and we could have our selves a big three.

20mil in cap space this year will be useless, we can still sign 2 max guys in 2013 or 2014 if we let dwight walk, we cant do that if we trade for lopez and over pay his soft butt, the 1st rd picks will likely not be lottery picks (maybe this year, 6-8 range), the draft pick this year is what excites me, i agree, the cap space this year doesnt, and next year we have it regardless (unless a big lopez contract)

I agree with you on almost all of this except that I do think Bynum, if healthy, is 100% a franchise guy. He can be a 25-15 guy imo if given the necessary touches. Pretty good defender too. There's a reason he was the STARTING ALLSTAR CENTER in the West. <- If that's not a "franchise" guy, I don't know what is. Anyways, I really do like your point about Dwight bitching and moaning if we do keep him, the second we lose a couple games or something, killing all the chemistry, pissing our fans off, etc etc. He is extremely fickle.

ESPN mentioned briefly that tampering charges might come up if Dwight goes to NJ in the summer without a trade.

@Blue_and_Whte: :dontknow: ... 8-) ... Naw I'm not IT. I meant the wireless working on my phone, while I was on campus. I'm mostly doing UF College of Public Health grad work.... I wish I had IT skills.

Oh thats whats up. I worked at USF Health for a little supporting their network. Reason I asked is because were moving back to Fla (Thank the lord baby jesus) and Im looking for a job :D Sorry for the confusion.

I work for Moffitt in their IT department as a Clinical Systems Analyst. :)

Sweet. I havent even checked their careers site yet. Doing the whole CCNA thing has been time consuming.

As for the notion of Howard playing out the final option year on his contract (worth $19.5 million) next season, that remains unlikely as well. It's worth noting, though, that Howard's agent, Dan Fegan, is not on the books for his current contract and thus won't be paid unless he signs a new one. Pressure and problematic turns all around.

That certainly explains some of Dwight's outside motivations... especially about not exercising his ETO.

We couldn't have traded him with the All-Star game in Orlando. Would be ugly and uncomfortable especially if we didn't have an all-star of our own

LOL. I am getting a huge kick out of this. Dwight wants to make a run at the Ship and people want to blow up this team and give up on the season now.

We fought through too much adversity watching this team battle to this point. I think Stan, the Players and the organization deserve a shot at the playoffs as hard as they have worked this season.

Those freaking out about trading Dwight may be doing the Fans and the organization a disservice.

Especially, when the Season Ticket holders overwhelming said they would not renew their season tickets IF Dwight is traded.

Yeh I saw that in the article. Very interesting. I didn't think about that. You KNOW for a fact, there's no way in hell his agent would allow him to. So basically his agent has made $0 from him playing in the NBA (salary-wise). If he gets a 4-yr $80+ contract, the agent makes $3mil or so. Agent won't risk waiting another year for Dwight to cash in on him. I love how these agents control the players and not the other way around. Who works for who exactly??

This Thread has become a "Lets give up on this current team and blow it up now via trade".

They have worked too hard this season to become a top 5 team to just give up now and become a .500 Nuggets team.

Wow, so his agent is really motivated to get a new deal. Sucks, so many things come up. Broussard saying now the Nets would like for Dwight to come in FA this summer, but are more interested in securing him right now and are still trying to find a 3rd team to involve in the trade.
