Mike D'Antoni has resigned.
Should Jordan go after him in the off season?

Yes. Yes! YES!
The possibility of the Bobcats averaging 110 a game? Absolutely, sign me up today, take my money.
Plus I think we might get something out of Tyrus in D'Antoni's system. Maybe.

Re: Mike D'Antoni has resigned.
SSOL and running the P&R might suck with our roster considering we can't hit a J to save our life and our bigs that don't have great hands , but sure, it might be fun to see what he could get out of guys like Kemba, Hendo, UPS, Biz etc.
Be better if DJA was his point guard though. Kemba takes too long to set the offense up.
Davis would look pretty good playing under Mike D with DJA as his point.

Re: Mike D'Antoni has resigned.
I was on the D'Antoni bandwagon a month or so ago before Jeremy Lin went bonkers as I thought he was going to get fired. I hope he doesn't do what other coaches normally do and take a season or two off. Lord knows he is horrific at teaching defense, but with someone like Biyombo downlow and hopefully an Anthony Davis you dont really need to teach too much defense at all. Jordan needs to contact him immediately.

Re: Mike D'Antoni has resigned.
Just MHO, but D'Antoni gets bashed a bit unfairly on defense. People look at the final score and see that the other team scored a lot. That's not really a good measure for D'Antoni teams. His teams play at a fast pace and part of the game plan is to try to get other teams to play at the same pace. That results in more shots per game for both teams. If you adjust for pace his teams look fine defensively. Not great, but not worst in the NBA by any means.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

I'm not crazy about D'Antoni. I'm glad he resigned though, Dolan just acquired all the worst players for his system and he was stuck in hell.

Re: Mike D'Antoni has resigned.
This morning on Mike and Mike, Stephen A. Smith was on. Said that the players did not like D'Antoni except for Landry Fields. Said that he felt D'Antoni would be gone before next week. And he was right. It was a resignation, but they pretty much made it clear his time was up. What a dysfunctional franchise.

Re: Mike D'Antoni has resigned.
It's too bad. Knicks were fun to watch those couple wks of Linsanity. D'Antoni had something then. Still, don't want him here. Hire Maurice Cheeks away from OKC this summer, instead.
BTW, D'Antoni supposedly resigned. Give you any ideas Paul Silas?

As for D'Antoni? Our tipster, currently batting 1.000, says that "he has either the Wash or Charlotte job lined up, otherwise he would not have left." For what it's worth.

hmm... i'm not sure. i doubt it. i think mj would prefer a coach who thought about the game the same way that he did. i dont know if mj could live with a coach that was so passe about defense. plus we dont really have a roster that suits that style.

If that's true, it's probably Washington. Makes more sense from a personnel standpoint. Their FO wouldn't have to make as many moves to adjust to D'Antoni's system.
I would like him here though, without question. I look at what he did in Phoenix in a small market and think that it could be us, especially if we win the Anthony Davis lotto this year. There's also a certain guy from Harvard we could make a play for to be the system PG.

Bring him in, at least it would be fast paced and fun to watch every night.

Re: Mike D'Antoni has resigned.
Like DJA, Kendall Marshall sure would look good in a Mike D system getting the rock to Hendo, Davis and Biz.
Worried how Kemba might run it though.

Re: Mike D'Antoni has resigned.
I think that Kemba could surprise many in a D'Antoni system- the fast paced game would be hard for him to adjust too at first but I think that he eventually could get the hang of it. However the biggest benefactor would of course be Biyombo- who is pretty fast for a PF and often is down court on the fastbreak even before Hendo, I think D'Antoni could really help him develop on O...
That stated the guys I really want to see apply for the Headcoaching Job are that of:
Alvin Gentry (in my dreams!)
Scott Skiles (also in my dreams)
Brian Shaw (I love this guy)
Stephen Silas

Re: Mike D'Antoni has resigned.
I think you have to bring him in. He was destined to fail in NY with the way that team has been built. NY just put a team together based on names and that's it.
I envisioned the Bobcats making Stephen Silas the next HC since Paul is obviously done after this year. But with D'Antoni we get a much better, more productive system. I like the idea of you know, actually scoring more than 70 points in a game.
