I don't have a problem with Crawford, and I think he would be a good piece...but on a team contending for the playoffs. I'm with you, I don't get the logic in this one either. There must be more to it that we aren't hearing yet.

BTW, Steve Reed seems to think we won't make a move, but I don't give him much credit when it comes to NBA talk.

No, I also do not like a DJ for Crawford trade. It does nothing for us, as DJ should bring back a pick at the very least (in addition to Crawford). I don't see Jamal being brought back after he turns down his player option for next season...so what good is it?

I'm guessing Lakers will give up their 1st and Barnes?

I hope that trade goes down so it wouldn't leave our FO with hope of getting Crawford.

Chit's crazy but something could be worked out I guess. I came up with this: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7c3chfg

Charlotte gets: Derek Fisher, Wayne Ellington
Minnesota gets: Jamal Crawford, Nolan Smith
Lakers get: Michael Beasley
Portland gets: DJ Augustin, Josh McRoberts

I'd take that, pick or no pick.

Posted this a few days ago. This is sort of what I envisioned, only now sub the Lakers for the Bobs.

I would have done Beez for DJA at this point. If they balked at Carroll, think DJA and our TPE also may work.

So did the Tyrus to Boston deal fall through? Or was it just conjecture anyway? I'm not thrilled about the DJ deal, but if we take the Boston and NJ deals than I'd get over it. I'm sure Cho could do wonders with three first round picks this year.

My only hesitation to acquiring Beasley is this: Let's say we get screwed out of the number 1 and 2 picks this year and have to pick 3-4. If the BPA is Barnes or MKG, do we take them with Maggette and Beasley at SF or reach for a Beal, Leonard, Thomas Robinson, etc?

So Howard is now saying he isn't opting out this summer.

Guess this means the Nets will want to make cap space to prepare for him? If so, get that Diaw for Farmer, Petro and a 1st deal done Cho!!

Only downside would be having to hear about Howard and what is happening with him for another year.

What?! Why would we want two overpaid, barely NBA type players?!
No way... even if Laker's 1st was included.

You darn skippy if we get 3 or 4 we take Barnes kidd or T Rob. Then we flip Beasley to LA. What's the next issue ?

I'm not so certain that Beal isn't the best player you mentioned...aside from Davis I think he's got the most potential.

After Howard's decision, I really hope the Diaw trade is still on the table...but I don't see why it would be.

Agree...why would they need that deal now? They do not need the cap space until the following season, not next year. Man, we should have taken the deal and run while they still thought the need was there. So long Houston 1st, hello Diaw buyout.

They both come off the books in 2 years, their contracts aren't that bad. Fish can back up and mentor Kemba and Ellington and Henderson are like best friends. Ellington is a shooter, we need shooters, and what's better than a shooter with confidence thanks to being reunited with his best buddy? Throw in a Lakers pick and I think it's pretty good value compared to letting DJA go for trash later.

pretty sure fisher's not going anywhere. last (and only) time he played for another team he actually got a huge favor from utah's front office to let him out of his contract so he could go back to LAL and be closer to doctors who could care for his sick child.

News of Dwight Howard's decision to stay with the Magic through the 12-13 season has opened up trade talk between teams on other deals.

The Pacers have had multiple scenarios on hold and the Bobcats also have multiple trade scenarios for Boris Diaw.

Well I suppose that's encouraging.
