hmmm...Dwight's going to opt-in huh? i wonder what that does for Deron? that would mean for him another year sucking with the Nets.....Does that put us in a better position in 2013? would we be players in that Free Agent pool?

Well looking at hoopshype right now, we'd have Dwight, Nelson and JJ all come off the books next season (assuming Dwight opts in). About 34 million off. If we could shed JRich, Duhon and Davis, we'd would be looking pretty good in 2013 from a financial standpoint.

add around 6.5 mil to that, hedo is only 6 mil guaranteed.

Add around 10 mil to that actually, Hedo is only 6mil, Duhon is only 1.5mil and we can not exercise team option on Wafer (about 1mil). Plus, if money is no issue to RDV (which it seems it isn't), we always have the options of cutting-and-stretching BBD and/or JRich to clear about another 4mil each in space. So we could honestly clear almost everyone off the books by next summer other than whatever Ryno gets this summer (maybe 8mil), 6mil of Hedo, 1.5mil of Duhon, 2.5mil if Q opts in, 2.5mil of BBD, and 2.5mil of JRich. That would only be like 25mil on the books....if we could dump Hedo as an expiring, would be even better!

I don't think so. I believe you remove the opt out clause. He's already opted in, he just won't opt out and that option will be removed from his current contract.

2013, they'll have loads of cap space to go after free agents. I'm calling it now, either Monta and/or Smoove will join IF Dwight opts in.

If Dwight opts in we have a great shot at Monta, from his comment on going to ORL and winning a championship.

You might not remember, but about a year ago, our first preseason game was against the MIA Heat (this was right after they formed their trio). Remember it was in Tampa, and it got cancelled because the floor was slippery due to their being ice under it or something?

Well, n the story, the reporter did a piece on good ol Christian Leibert, who was literally crying because the game wouldn't happen.

See Christian had been a Magic fan his entire life......all the way up until Lebron came to the Heat. He then immediately switched over to them, bought Wade jerseys and everything. He had become a running joke on this forum for a while.

As an outsider looking in on your guys' situation, that's what worries me (if the reporter did actually get this right).

He says he's opting in, everyone smiles and shakes in, then tomorrow with just a few hours to go he still hasn't filed the paperwork, and the Magic are left scrambling to get a deal. If they can't he hits FA like it's been speculated he's wanted all along.
