What a great fight that was last night. It's going to be hard to top round 9 as round of the year, just incredible. I don't know what fight the judges were watching, Salido rocked him throughout the fight. So, I guess it's Salido/Garcia next. Garcia/Concepcion was a bit dull. Garcia has good skills and power but he isn't really aggressive. He's going to need to step it up to keep Salido off him. Should be a good fight.

9 rounds in...this ref in the Salido-Lopez fight is so God damn crooked. His reactions to Lopez's fouls vs Salido's fouls couldn't be more different. Grazing belt-line shot from Salido has him screaming and chastising. A bunch of obvious pushing down on Salido's head has him interrupt the action but to correct Lopez all the while nodding his head and shrugging his shoulders. Body language reveals the prejudice there. Ridiculous. Huge concession having to fight this thing in PR. I hope it was worth the $ for Salido. I hope it doesn't cost him the fight

...continued.

^^^ it's not gonna matter, the next round reveals.

Really smart stoppage. Lopez's brain is gonna be swole after the 9th. Add the 3.5 punches of the KO, there's too much damage. Another couple hard punches means exponential more damage.

Rich Rane wrote:Damn, JuanMa Lopez's punches have absolutely no snap.

Salido walks into a right hook! JuanMa Lopez scores a knockdown! This got a lot more exciting.

Salido comes back in the 6th with some good shots. JuanMa Lopez may need a miracle to survive. Still no snap to any of his punches. He's also spending a lot of time on the ropes, where Salido lands at will.

Through 8, I have Salido winning all, but one round, but it's still an exciting fight.

Round 9 = Both men tired, both men letting it all out. Feels like a classic heavyweight fight.

Round 10 = Salido with the early knockdown! Looked like a right uppercut and a left cross. JuanMa stumbles to his feet for the eight count. Ref calls it off!

Post-fight interview: JuanMa Lopez thinks he was winning the fight and blames the stoppage on a gambling problem from the ref. :-?

Wow two judges had Lopez winning by 2 points and the 3rd had it a draw at that point
...

So ridiculous. Jeez. Maybe 2 rounds total to Lopez. One, probably. Not even debatable that he was ahead. The ref, the judges...no one had better go to PR without plans for a KO. Better luck beating a German in Munich.

Gamboa/Rios is officially off, TR will sue Gamboa, according to RING.

Very disappointed that this fight took a downward spiral, I was very much looking forward to it. Gamboa screwed TR and HBO big time, it may take a while for him to be trusted.

I honestly don't see the point of suing Gamboa if Gamboa just renewed his contract. Just don't book him in any fights or give him s**t fights for the remainder of his contract and waste his prime.

If Gamboa felt the weight jump was too much for him, he should've said so instead of not talking to Top Rank about it.

Just watched the Devon Alexander fight of a couple weeks back. Wow. What beautiful movement. The guy was on fire. A mental hurdle, maybe.

WTF is wrong with Larry Merchant? Did Sergio Martinez **** his granddaughter? Since the very first 10 seconds of the fight he's been on his case...talking about him being over-the-hill, etc., etc. The very first round he and Kronk were all over him. 30 seconds in, 'he's just circling, he's passive, he's anxious, why hasn't he knocked this guy out yet?'. It doesn't make any sense.

I'm in the mid-11th now. He's just asked, "is Macklin good enough to expose Martinez?" Why are you assuming there's something to expose, douchebag?

Oh, KO! As I type. Now all of a sudden, Steward says, "he systematically broke him down". Are you kidding me? You've been dogging the guy all fight! Did head of HBO Sports just text you with a reminder you have to promo his next fight?

There were times where Martinez didn't look sharp but goddamn, what a way to finish a fight. He brutalized Macklin in the last couple rounds. Great effort by Macklin, left it all in the ring. I doubt Martinez is going to get a major fight that he's hoping for, he'll probably face someone like Andy Lee next.

Watching the Kirkland-Molina fight and that's as weird (and stupid) an ending to a fight as you'll ever see. Sucks for Molina since he was winning.

You know...Morales is nowhere near the boxer he was 10 years ago, but I still call him one of the most entertaining boxers around and one of the boxers with the biggest heart.

Molina's working beautifully, 6 rds in. A clinic on movement mid-range. Kirkland's looking both muscle-bound and is being out-muscled!

Is Molina a Glen Johnson? Unheralded, hard luck journeyman?

Lampley just said, "Kirkland needs to out-ghetto him." Then seemed to allude to it in the next round as "I'm not fond of that phrase I used in the last round".

Emanuel Augustus was just brought up as a better example. Drunken Master.
