I hate to admit it but I have been thinking the same way as Ping on this latest twist. In that it was a ploy of false hope so the Magic will keep him past the deadline so he can walk to NJ in the summer and not give up assets.

i really doubt that this is all a ruse. i'd go with the most simple explanation now, which is that dwight is essentially a kid who is having a hard time making a decision for himself.
