You guys are acting like Farmar would not be an asset. Obviously Petro is dead wieght, but he's only 3.5 million of it. So essentially your trading a bum for a 1st and a very capable back-up PG at the expense of 3.5 million. I'll take that. There is no one that we need to be spending massive amounts of money on next year anyway. And like I said, if we REALLY want to, we can still have the cap flexibility by simply amnestying Thomas. Still though, it's not just the Houston 1st, its also Farmar. Both are assets.

Farmar is not that good. The Lakers didn't even want him.

This, and more importantly he's paid a lot too.

Decent possibility Farmar opts out so he can return to Israel to play.

I don't see us doing a trade with NJ (grabbing Farmar) without a DJ trade being in place anyway.

He's producing about as much as DJ with significantly less minutes. He would be a good compliment to Kemba off the bench. And 4 million for a productive PG is NOT a bad deal..... plus you could potentially get a first round pick. You guys are mistaken if you think we will use the cap space we have next off season...

That's a good point. With DJ here no need for Farmar.

I'm sure some thought the 19 wasn't worth anything last year either and look what that turned into.

He's paid more than Carroll over the next to years, and people seem to be begging to lose his contract around here.

People are begging to lose Carroll's contract because he blows and doesn't produce at all. Farmar does.

$4 million for 11 and 3 (in 21 minutes) is great value

DJ is averaging 12 and 6 (in 30 minutes) and wants $7 million

I honestly don't think DJ will be here.

We need to cut the lakers out of the rumoured three team trade with the Wolves and the Blazers.

Minny trade-Beasley Receive Crawford Portland trade- Crawford and receive Augustin and Charlotte trade- Augustin and receive Beasley.

We may even get a first out of the deal from someone but its pretty fair, I cannot for the life of me figure out why Steve Blake is considered this valuable.

So Howard is definitely staying in Orlando for at least another year.

That's got to affect what Jersey do from here. Its going to be tough to keep Williams in town.

Doesn't work. I mean, not that we would do it anyway. But it's not allowed under the current rules.

It is. I'm surprised that you as a regular visitor of this board don't know this. It would be the year pick is conveyed to Utah + 2 years, essentially 2012 + 2 years (=2014). I wrote "or so" becuase I hadn't check whether you owe some other first round pick already or not.

How do you think Tyrus Thomas for a pick went down? We already owed at that time (a pick via Denver for trading in draft to grab Ajinca).

IT'S TRADE DAY! Whats next for Bobcats?

Post#434 » by BobsBuddy » Thu Mar 15, 2012 12:29 pm

:o :o   With the Howard deal not going down ,I guess that 6.5m cap space in the Diaw trade may not be as inticing to the Russian Billionaire owner of the NJN. If Not we may do nothing.
I wonder if Cho has talked to Dallas about a DJA, Diop trade, our 2012 1st round Portland pick for Kidd and Dal 1st round pick in 2013. Dallas then has 2 picks in 2012 and we have Kidds expiring and a 1st round pick in 2013. makes sense and if we get Farmar from NJN it even makes more sense. Who knows maybe MJ resigns Kidd for 1 year as a 2 guard 20 minutes a night?

With just a few hours left What would you suggest the Bobcats do to get better for the future?  :o :-? :-?

True but Jax had a bit to do with that as well.

Whatever develops I think it will be interesting to see how Cho and company play this out. If indeed Howard waives his option, it is reported that the Nets still want to position the team to build around Deron Williams. That could mean they still want to clear cap space for next season versus standing pat and waiting for Howard the following year.

We've discussed the pros and cons of pulling the trigger on a Diaw for the Houston pick and rental players. I lean toward saying yes but my friend dmutumbo is against it. If we keep the cap space, what player could we realistically have a shot at aquiring after this season? I'd love to get Batum, but did the Blazers not take their qualifying offer on him?

Lastly, what is to become of DJA? I would hope we can make a deal to move him for a pick or a young player. Any place we could package he and Tyrus for a pick and a player?
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.
