What the hell is your problem Mr Hater?

Last time I looked the Pacers are 9 games above 500!! Larry stole West, dafted Paul George, got Collison and saved $4 million in salary, oh and drafted Hibbert. He's made a few mistakes Shawne Williams comes to mind. But over all we are winning.

So... STFU!!

Not in the same deal. We're still paying Posey and Collison.

The Pacers traded Troy Murphy who was to make about $12 million in 2010-11 and got Collison at $1.4 million and Posey who was at about $7 million or a little less. That's a savings of $4 million. I reacall we had a TPE we didn't use. 8-)

Of course we are still paying Posey but that doesn't matter because this year we are so far below the cap. The one thing that seems weird to me is that we used up the One time Amnesty on Posey which I would have kept for a future use if needed since we were gonna have to pay him anyhow.

We still didn't save salary. Posey made like $13 million alone ove these 2 seasons. We'd have been better off buying Murphy out. I'm not one of the few people who think Bird is a bad GM. Just looking back, it wasn't a good move.

Here's what I assumed when Posey was given amnesty.

Pacers had no intention to use Posey
There was no one else on the roster they could foresee using the amnesty provision on.

So they did James a favor turning him loose to pick his best option. He isn't to my knowledge playing indicating just how much his game has deteriorated. Something it seemed everyone but Jim O'brein seemed to have concluded.

second unit or not do any of you really think we'd have beaten Philly last night without Granger? Bird could win executive of the year and some of you guys would still be second guessing him.

Yes, and if we would have had George Hill last time we played the 76ers we would have beat them without Granger also.

the first time we played Philly Granger was out with food poisoning and Hill got a DNP coaches decision. I forgot why that was.

I can't remember either, but the guard play killed us. Dahntay actually had a good game starting at the 3. Granger's impact on this team is overrated. He's played bad this season. I don't think he's a bad player though. Collison is a bad player. Granger is just heavily underperforming. And I think it's time for the team to go a different direction. I'm not trying to bash him.

Granger hasn't fully made the transition from being the man to being one of several options but I think we're better off with him than without him.

I don't think Collison is a bad player, but he does have lots of room to improve. at this point he's not as good as Tinsley was as a rookie but much better than Tinsley was at the end. speed used to kill us and DC has that. I'm not ready to anoint him an all star but I don't want to dump him either.

Posey and Murphy were owed about the same, only Posey had an extra year, which in turn made his annual salary about half of Murda's. In essence we saved app. $4m for the 2010-11 season, but it didn't matter because we were suppose to experience the opposite effect this season, unitl the amnesty. In terms of use the clause can only be executed on existing contracts, that is contracts signed under the old cba. Regardless, Simon had to pay that money so it really didn't help us, primarily because we were comfortably under the cap. The importance of the rule is only felt if it helps you avoid the luxury tax, otherwise you're still paying.

Collison was the only salary Indy took.

8-)
I said several months ago that
if we got either Nene or West we'd compete with Orlando for the forth spot...
with an outside shot at the third...
because I expected a big slip from Boston.

I was almost laughed off the general board.

Getting laughed off the General Board is usually a good thing in my experience.
