And how many times is the answer going to change today?

I don't think Howard has any clue what he actually wants to do, so until he does something, there's really no reason to put too much stock into anything.

At-least D' Antonio resigned unlike Flip who tanked himself and is now collecting checks back in Minny.

I wonder if the Nets make an offer for Melo?

They could put together a pretty good offer, and the price is likely to be pretty low. I think Brooks, Okur and Farmar might get it done. Definitely a poor return for the Knicks, but it might be worth it for team chemistry.

Man the Nets may not even get D12 and might lose Deron Williams. Not a good look....

I dont get why Howard's agent has to sign the waiver of opting out thing when he is not a party to the contract.
Until Grunfeld goes there is no rebuild.

I think the idea is to avoid a team pressuring a player to opt-in or out of a contract option.

Sixers get Sam Young from Memphis for a draft pick.

Apparently the Grizzlies have interest in Arenas. It might be a pretty good fit. It seems they are right at the luxury tax threshold. I wonder if they make a small salary dump or two to get under and have the ability to add Arenas or another Minimum Level deal.

That's double good news. Sam Young went to the same HS I did, Ft Washington, MD, Friendly. To be traded for means he is wanted. Philly can use him. He's going to another good team. I was hoping at one point Sam Young could play for the Wizards.

I am also ECSTATIC to see Gilbert come back to the NBA. I have a sister who lives in Memphis. If Gil is a Grizzly a while, I might get to see him play there some day. They love the Memphis Tigers and also Zach Randolph and the Grizzlies. Gil has a shot to revive his career in a big way, just like Randolph did.
The Wizards shoukd have drafted Derik Queen

I told you so :banghead:

Will Howard's waiver of his option affect ORL's ability to give him a larger/longer deal than everyone else in 2013?

No. They'll still be stuck offering a little bit more than everyone else.

Woj reported on WFAN-660 that every player on POR is on the trading block (including LMA) after that 42 point blowout last nite. There blowing up the team and Nate more than likely won't be back next year.

If you wanna talk about a cursed franchise, take a look at the Blazers. Roy had to retire, Oden may have to as well. 2 cornerstones done after 4-5 years.

Including Aldridge? Wow.

It's not good to have an epically bad game the day before the trading deadline. You're liable to do something you're going to end up regreting. I hope EG is talking to Portly right now. Get Aldridge and Batum. 8-)

I bet Toronto signs Wilson Chandler very soon. I think it was a decent pick up for the Pacers.

I see the note about the Blazers and find myself really hoping that we can pull off a McGee for Batum trade. Then I remember that Batum was on the board when we drafted McGee. Then I let out a little sigh...

Oh, and I get that trading for Batum means nothing unless they re-sign him, and that means ponying up a lot of dough. Not an ideal scenario, but having the RFA leverage would be a plus.
