he did give credit to Rudolph.
Probably was a dig. But you can't really discount emotion from this sort of decision. There's obviously always going to be the practical side of things, but the relationships he's built in Orlando, the connections with the city, the ownership, his team-mates and the fans, were always going to play a part. And let's face it, it's not like he's committing to stay for five more years on a losing team - right now, it's one more year on a team that's won 50+ games for four straight years.
So is he saying he will only let $$$ affect him and not emotions? I don't get how that's a dig at him. If anything that's a compliment to Dwight's character imo. Not to mention, DWill has NO, LITERALLY NO emotional connection whatsoever with that franchise/city. Give me a break. He didn't want to get traded there, he was very vocal about that.
I think the dig at Dwight was that Deron was not going to be emotional about his choice and would make a business decision as "his own man", insinuating Dwight was weak by letting his emotions factor into it.
I agree with you, personally I wouldn't say that as a dig against Dwight, but I think that's how Broussard meant it. To me, Dwight's human, he has emotions, and he's including them in his choice. Fair enough, IMO. Like you say with Deron, he probably isn't that hampered by emotions either way simply because he only landed in NJ twelve months ago via a trade he wasn't expecting (and any attachment he's build with his surroundings is diluted by the fact the team is moving to a new area in the fall anyway)
