Jamal Crawford

Post#1 » by doubledyll424 » Thu Mar 15, 2012 3:07 am

What kind of an impact would a combo guard similar to Jamal Crawford have on our team at this point in the season?

I posted earlier about this scenario.

I think he would be great addition to the team. let me know what you think.

Huh. Now there's a player who has kinda slipped under the radar as the deadline approaches. What do you guys think?

hadn't really given him much thought, but now that you mention it, he might be a nice target for the wolves

I just don't want to give up a core piece...like Ridnour is way too valuable, even if Rubio is healthy Ridnour is off-limits IMO

Would you guys prefer Crawford to J-Rich if either would cost you Beasley?
Rob Hennigan is smarter than you.

No
The appeal of Crawford is he's a stopgap that will expire. No one wants either Crawford or J-Rich after this year.

all things being equal i'd probably prefer Crawford b/c he can dribble a little bit and hasn't completely lost all traces of athleticism

it sucks to give up beasley...I'd obviously like a long term solution, but if jamal helps us make the playoffs that's great (3 guard rotation- Luke, Jamal, JJ?)

Coming from a Hawks fan who lives in Minnesota. I don't think it would be in any teams best interest to pick him up. When we (Hawks) picked him up in 2009 he was a good run-and-gun shooter for us and even won the NBA Sixth Man Of The Year Award. However, after the 2009 season ended Jamal has regressed significantly. But if Kahn sees something in Crawford that he likes it certainly would not be a horrible decision. I don't know whether or not a starting role for Crawford in Minnesota is the right fit but being a bench/rotational player where he would be able to stay fresh and put up points kind of like Beasley is doing right now seems ideal.

If we don't think he's good enough to help us, why would we be worried about what he can do for the Lakers?

^ To be fair, I don't think it's a 'he's not good enough to help us' thing as much as it is a 'he's not worth the money that we would owe him for next year because we're going to blow the whole wad on Batum so we might as well get something for him now' thing.

That said, Lakers with Beas aren't scary.

if Houston wasn't fighting us for the last seed, I'd hope we coulda gotten K-Mart

(although Batum in the offseason would be nice but he's an RFA and no way Portland doesn't match)

so essentially, we're giving up Beasley for another undersized scorer...Beasley will probably play well in LA making our move questionable and then at the end of the year it's back to the drawing board I guess.

League sources has told me Jamal Crawford is hoping Blazers move him before the deadline. His desired destination is the Orlando Magic

Am I the only one who would have been insanely cool with taking Derek Fishers contract in a Jamal Crawford deal? (ideal veteran, helps shore up PG for a few mins a game) wtf am i missing? why did it fall through?
