I don't think they actually needed it - I read somewhere that agents aren't required to sign things like ETO waivers. The only signature they needed was Dwight's.

Not really, he is right. We just had a lockout over player rights vs owner control, and here Dwight is modifying his contract to remove a clause that allows for greater player autonomy. Now, that is the situation outside of the context. With context it is clear that Orlando isn't on some mad power grab trying to control Dwight, but instead they are responding to the situation of uncertainty that Dwight's trade request has caused. Not really - all he's doing is opting in 3 months early and for one more year. It's not like he removed an ETO for the 2015-16 season, or like he opted in for two extra years, which would be foolish. I'm not sure I've ever read anything from Ping which would make me feel like he was an NBA source worth paying attention to.

I've just checked the salaries ..

If we could trade JRich for Crawford & don't pick up Orton & Von's option .. We could have enough capspace (even if we re-sign Ryan) to sign Dwight + another Max player & even a more expensive role-player like JJ .. And this is with Baby/Q/Duhon still on the roster, so if we could trade them for expirings too, I'm gonna wet my pants

Who knows, we could still get Ellis while keeping JJ/Ryan after all 8-)

Trade our pick, with Howard staying it will probably be lower than 25
