To be fair, top three protected is all the protection it needed. They currently have the 9th worst record, and with Wallace they should improve, if anything. Let's say they end up with the 10th worst record; unless they actually win a top three pick the lottery, they will be picking somewhere between 10th and 13th. That + expiring contracts isn't terrible for Wallace. If they do win a top three pick, they keep it.
