Post#1 » by Sun Scorched » Thu Mar 15, 2012 3:34 pm

Looking for a sticky here mods.

I've decided to help our board track the Western Conference Playoff push it appears the Suns are attempting to make. In this thread, we can discuss the important games leading up the the post season, as well as seeding hopes, desires, and nightmares.

**** the Lakers.

So, without further hesitation:

Phoenix currently stands 3 games out of the 8 spot of the WC playoffs. Both Dallas and Houston share a 3 game margin, with Denver only one half game in front of them.

Interesting to see what Denver will do without Nene.
Hill on Nash going to the Lakers: “That’s like transferring from Duke and going to Carolina.”

I think denver takes a slight step back trading Nene or McGee. Longer term McGee might be better than Nene, but short term this might hurt their playoff positioning a bit.

Houston trades Jordan Hill for Derek Fisher, plus Thabeet, Flynn for Camby. It seems Rockets have made a nice upgrade to their team. Thabeet, Flynn were deep bench guys with small minutes, and Hill was only slightly better. They get in return two veterans that can contribute significant minutes off the bench.

Portland in full tank mode with their trades.

Minnesota stands pat.

This makes Houston a lock for the playoffs (porbably at least #7 seed). Suns have to hope Denver and Minnesota fall off and we sneak in at 8th seed.

In case you forgot, Minnesota are 9th so they are irrelevant. Since Houston is a lock now we have to hope Denver or Dallas collaps.

I mentioned Minnesota because they are 1.5 games ahead of us. I see them slowly falling off due to the Rubio injury, but you never know Love might hoist the team on his back and into the playoffs.

Hope Love gets disgusted with the Wolves and demads a trade to Suns

Before you get too excited, you should know that the Suns's April schedule is ungodly. http://espn.go.com/nba/team/schedule/_/ ... oenix-suns

We end the season with 13 hard as hell games in a row.

I still believe in playoffs but I'm always an optimist. I thought they would get in last year too. If the Suns get in, they will have earned it and it means they definitely would be a good team that could make noise in the playoffs.

I'm honestly still thinking we don't make it, but you're right...if we get in, we'll have effing fought hard as hell to earn it.

I wish we had won early with our soft schedule.

It's astonishing to see how differently this team plays presently than they did at the start of the year. Looking back I just can't believe some of those horrible losses - (NO in the last second, geez)

Anyways, I'm going full optimist - MARCIN TOWARDS THE PLAYOFFS!

15 of their 23 remaining games are against teams in the playoffs. If the Suns can go 15-8 (.650) over that stretch they have a chance to squeak in. That's no losses to teams they should beat and wins over half of the playoff caliber teams.

Hoping the Rockets lose tonight @LAC making them 24-21. Sunday's game against the Rockets will be HUGE: If we beat them we would be 23-22 and they would be 24-22. Also by beating them we give us a chance to not lose the season series against them.
