The official moving Forward thread
Talk about change, in a matter of a few years the only player left from the the nuggets squad that made the 2009 western conference finals is chris anderson. Only one player in a period of less than 3 years. Talk about change, but it's time to plan for the future.

Re: The official moving Forward thread
I'd say let Dre, Brewer and Rudy walk. If you can, dump Birdman for capspace/picks, maybe Al too. We'll get a better idea of McGee's worth over the next few months, but if he can be resigned to a reasonable deal, you do it. That leaves us with something like..
Lawson / Stone
Afflalo / Hamilton
Gallinari / Chandler
Faried / Harrington
McGee / Mozgov / Koufos
I don't think that's a bad place to be. We got multiple young guys with a lot of upside at every position. Add more talent and depth through the draft.

I'm going to wait till the end of the season to further evaluate. That said, I would love it -- if we went after Goran Dragic (excellent back up PG) in the off season.
Do you guys think we can make still the playoffs? Maybe I am overreacting...but that was a ugly 2nd half tonight.

We have a pretty good chance to make it as an 8th seed, of course only if we don't go on a losing streak from now on.

Personally, I would amnesty Harrington and throw big money at Ryan Anderson.
We need shooters bad.

Anderson is going to ask for a really big contract once he hits FA and probably he is going to re-sign with the Magic, so i would rather pass on him. I agree with you tho, we should amnesty Harrington and get a shooter in Free Agency, Mayo is a tempting option but i assume he would ask for a big contract as well.

Re: The official moving Forward thread
i'd move chandler to backup sg, harrington to backup sf/pf.
i want faried to have free reigns at the pf spot, give him as many minutes as he can play.
don't know about ryan anderson.... i don't see a likely scenario of him ending up here. nene being gone justifies everybody's feelings towards faried about him being the long term plan. and anderson solidifying his role as a starter, i don't think he'd be too happy coming off the bench, nor would he take a small salary.
we'll have to see in person what type of player mcgee is. all eyes are going to be on him for a few weeks.

I forgot about Faried
, he is our PF of the future so i doubt we sign someone like Anderson in the offseason, a shooter is needed here but i feel like there's no one cheap avalaible.

Re: The official moving Forward thread
The trade today was a money saving one. If McGee doesn't impress GK and the FO over the next 20 games, then they wont offer him big money in the offseason - so he may choose to walk.
We should Amnesty Birdman this season - because we now have three 7 footers in Mozzy, KK and McGee.
-Al Harrington is good to have on the bench, but he cannot play SF - he's a PF and small C
-Dre is as good as gone this off season, he wants to be a starter and he wont be whilst Ty is here.
-Rudy will go to Spain where he already has a deal waiting for him
-Faried is obviously the starting PF now
-Brewer is an uncertain one - whilst you don't come across players like him often (high energy, 10 ppg off the bench, doesn't complain) he seems to be the odd man out now that Chandler is coming on board. He is cheap at just over 3 million next year.
-Wilson Chandler - he should be locked in for 4 years
-AAA - he has disappointed me the most this season. 4 straight games he will give you 20+, then he will have really bad nights for a few games.
Off Season Targets - Dragic - this guy is a great PG and played behind Steve Nash for a long time.
Ryan Anderson - if D12 stays in Orlando and gets 110 Million, then Magic may let Anderson walk.
OJ Mayo - not sure if he is the right fit here, but offers good scoring punch off the bench.
My Rotation would be:
C - McGee, Mozzy
PF - Faried, Harrington
SF - Gallo, Chandler
SG - AAA, Brewer
PG - Ty, Stone

Can only amnesty during the offseason. We would probably be better off holding onto him as a reserve than waiving him. The benefits are pretty minimal when you still have to pay the player and we aren't close to the luxury tax.

Looks like he is a RFA, will probably go back to Spain in all likelihood.

Birdman doesn't even play anymore, there is no need to amnesty him.

We should trade him for picks or cap relief.

Re: The official moving Forward thread
Am I the only one that think Mozzy sucks? The guy is just a complete stiff out there. I'd much rather have Koufos backing up McGee.
Miller has to go, and give Karl a veteran backup PG like Earl Watson, so he won't play two point guards at the same time. But I am sure he'll do it anyway

Re: The official moving Forward thread
Hey guys i was wondering if u guys would consider a trade of :
Chris Bosh + your pick of Mike Miller/James Jones/Noris Cole
For
Kenneth Faried + McGee ( after u sigh him long term in the summer)
Would u do that trade?

In a heartbeat. And I HATE Chris Bosh! I'd take Jones so we finally have someone to hit open three.
Faried is nice. But I doubt he'll ever become anything else then energy guy.
And need to be mentioned- I'd love to see Wade's and Bron's faces when they'd trade their buddie

i wouldn't...
at least not yet. i don't know what type of impact mcgee will have here plus letting go of faried is risky.
you don't trade away the all time leader ncaa rebounder who passed tim duncan, especially in his rookie year. faried now supposedly developing great chemistry with lawson could mean locking them up long term. i think patience here is the key.
