“I think what people think about is LeBron James leaving Cleveland,” King said. “But Dwyane Wade stayed in Miami, and Miami had only squeaked into the playoffs that season. They had the cap space, and Wade said to LeBron, ‘Hey, you want to play together, come here, I’m not going there.’ ”

BOOM!
I think by now, it's pretty blatantly clear what is happening. I try not to be confident about the Nets, but it's hard not to be with this.

Well, I don't think Nets FO was thinking that earlier in the season. Lopez's injury could be a major blessing in disguise if D12 ends up coming to NJ as a FA and we still have Lopez as a player or trade piece.

If anything there may have been a small sign of his mentality approaching this trade. Big difference is Wade had been with the Heat his whole career and won a ring with them. Deron has only been with us for about a season now.

Squeaking into the playoffs isn't what convinced Wade to stay, it was the fact that he had been there for a long time and had the market to convince LeBron and Bosh to join him. Oh and the fact that players like LeBron and Bosh were on the market. All we have going for us is the market.
