It happens to some folks I guess. Others don't derive their confidence from their coach.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

Is it possible to get confidence with 5-15 mins?
It is not like that Kanter is made of gold, but Utah Jazz did everything to destroy his growth.
This season is completely a lost for Kanter. He earned nothing so far.
He just showed us his rebounding abilities, thats all.
I like Utah, but I like Kanter more. Its so sad that his first year is a disappointment, because of Utah Jazz.
Now the trade line is closed. Why the hell did Utah Jazz keep everything like this? Trade the young fellows if you dont trust them. Or trust the young fellows.
There is not another team which has a lot of brilliant rookies like Utah has. THIS should be an advantage for a team. BUT in Utah this is nothing worth. I would understand, if Utah gave no minutes to Kanter but for all the other young guys. Then I would say, that Kanter is just bad and doenst earn it...
This Jazz of this year is a disappointment for me. Sorry.

This is a pretty gross overreaction. He's playing much better than he was at the beginning of the season and he's growing into his role. Sure I'd like to see him get a few more minutes but he's not ready to start or anything. I would say his rookie year has been very successful so far.

Well, maybe I overreacted.
But I dont agree with you.
You talk like he and Favors were second round picks. Or were at the end of the first round.
These 2 guys were picks Nr. 3.
I dont need to tell you what that means, right? I think all of you guys know the nba better than me.
If there was a reason, like Utah played awesome and they were going to reach the playoffs as third/fourth/fifth or something, then I would understand. But there is no excusion. Utah should play for building around the young guys for the next year. Then next year you will have a great chance to reach the playoffs. But now you just waste your time. Veterans wont become suddenly better than they are at the moment. But Utah plays like they have to build around those veterans. Does it make sense? Next year, if you begin to trust the young guys, you will lose another year, because the young guys must level up and this needs time. It is really a waste of time and I see nothing good this year for Kanter. For those minutes he got, he played fine, BUT he could be better than that. That is what I talk about.

I don't mind the frontcourt rotation so much outside of Favors not getting more minutes. Kanter is 19 and he has three guys who are better in front of him. From everything I've seen he is one of the most positive guys out there and he is just happy to be playing basketball. There are more pressing issues for this team outside of Kanter's minutes, but I guess as a Kanter fan that is all you really care about.
