That's what I like to see. Its kinda funny though that it feels like if the Jazz actually wanted to make the playoffs they'd really have a better chance by playing the young guys.

That's the thing. The "vets to win now / young guys strictly for the future" thing is a false choice.

Its not a false choice...we wouldn't have won the game last night with Favors in down the stretch. He had a nice game and he is coming along well, but you will not WIN games down the stretch with Favors, or Kanter for that matter. Yes I agree with everyone here that these guys need more minutes...but if you're Corbin and you want to win...you go with Millsap and Jefferson...every time. (for now)

I actually think it's reasonable to assume that if we left Favors in, we win in regulation. Once again, no proof, but looking at the game up until that moment I think it's logical.

I think you're wrong, last nights breakdown was on the defensive end and it happened as soon as Favors went out. Al can't guard love/anyone on the pick and role, and it almost cost the jazz the game.

I'm talking about the idea that we should have put Favors in instead of Millsap...not Jefferson. I make the contention because Millsap single-handedly stole that game from the Wolves...with Hayward hitting some open jumpers. Favors would have simply done okay on Defense and then he would have stood by for rebounds as the T-Wolves continued to drain 3's.

Millsap created takeaways which is what you have to have when a team is shooting that well.

yeah al jefferson has cost us a few games down the stretch with bad defense. also he is anti-clutch offensively. leave millsap and favors in at the end of the game. probably would have given us a chance against phoenix as well (favors played better offensively than both jefferson and millsap in that game).

Oh okay. I thought some people were hinting at leaving Favors in for Millsap...my bad. I still think that if you're Corbin you go with the vets down the stretch every time. Last night is a prime example of why. I think Al had a big shot down the stretch too, if I'm not mistaken.

he had a key tip in, but he clanked a few easy ones and forced a bad kobe shot in the first play of overtime. i think having favors in keeps that ball from going to pekovic at the end of regulation. jefferson is incapable of boxing out.

No way - that airball went right to Pekovic. If it wasn't an airball it barely nicked the rim. Oh well, I guess it does no good to speculate. I can't wait until the day that we can trust Favors and Kanter down the stretch

Jefferson was the one contesting the shot 20 feet from the basket on that play......

Just how exactly do you expect him to both contest the shot and get back to box out?

yeah i remember that now. i maintain that his defense cost us the win in regulation. and it definitely killed us in the phoenix game.
