Somebody has to do it... Terrence Williams

Post#1 » by prefuse73 » Fri Mar 16, 2012 5:23 pm

If its on the wiretap.. you know somebody has to start a topic... well I got this.

Terrence Williams just go waived. Lets pick him up.

Considering our current guard rotation, I have to believe that Terrence is an upgrade. When he was initially at NJ he looked to be 20/5/5 guy, but Im not sure what has happened since. Anyways, what you guys think about picking him up. Do you think RA would even play him?

Doesn't Rubio's season ending injury open up a roster spot?

EDIT: apparently it doesn't. forgot the Blazers had to waive Oden.

Send Malcolm back to the D-League?

I'm not sure about Terrence Williams. He wouldn't fit what we really need, but he'd be an interesting pickup nevertheless.

Williams looked like a 12-6-4 guy, not a 20-5-5 guy.

I have a simple question. If we signed him through the end of this year and the next 2 years, would we have bird rights on him?

I would be up for a 2 1/2 year, $4.5 mil contract for him to be a bench wing with bird rights/QO after that. Seems like that'd be worth the risk.

He's really not good. We don't need another low IQ guy.

Personally, I might take a flyer on him for a low price, but I don't see Adelman/Kahn doing it.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

I just posted this on Rubechat before checking here. I'd be willing to take a look at him...

Now now, here me out...

He was just cut by the Rockets, and I know he barely played under Adelman, but he's loading with a ton of physical talent and can play the 2. He's a mental midget off the court, but he's an intelligent player on the court. Rebounds and passes well for a SG, great size, and and and and.... Um I liked him in college so I'd love to be right about that take and see him blow up here. Though every advanced statistic says he's the worst player in basketball.

Waive Tolliver to make room for him?

Basically I think he's a minimal risk potentially HUGE reward type of player that we can get for free. Try him out for the next 20 games, and maybe bring him to camp next year?

He's really not. He's Wes Johnson with worse offense (lower ORtg, lower TS%, lower eFG%, same horrible career PER, same defense).

Bingo.

I still don't think our wings are that bad. They aren't great, but they aren't bad. Last night's game would've been different had our 6th man SF been healthy, and then this topic likely isn't even brought up.

His numbers might be worse than Wes Johnson's but his game doesn't replicate Wes's at all. He's a guy that once upon a time looked like he might be a triple double threat on any given night. A far cry from Mr. Incognito.

Fact: TWill was one of the few(probably only) Rocket to sound relieved when Adelman wasn't brought back as HC.

Also Fact: After Williams was removed from the rotation he tweeted that he was going to jump off a bridge. So possibly suicidal.
