I find New York to be really horrible in the final part of the field in front of goal. The movement completely stops and the players around Henry all stand around hoping he can do something on his own.

They can't push forward fast enough before Dallas recovers, jogging up the field will not work in MLS if you do it on every possession.

He likely should have started, he's the only one working with Henry.

i don't like what henry's doing now.

hanging back and just calling for the ball constantly and then demonstratively showing his frustration when it doesn't come to him right away.

Odd for there to be no ties on Opening weekend.

Yeah definitely some of the same symptoms present in this game that were present last season. TheyWe can get the ball up through the wings, but if the crossing is off like it was yesterday there is no way we can do anything in the final third. I didn't catch the entire game, but what I saw was way too much ticky tack passing and not enough aggression. The worse thing is that there were way too many lackadaisical turnovers.

This has been a big problem for a while actually. There isn't anyone in the midfield that supplys the ball very well. Dax has been pretty bad in his Red Bulls career so far (probably not a major surprise to many people though) and Tanio is alright, but he just doesn't have the creativity to do much for the offense. So Henry takes it upon himself to get the ball from deep and try to create something himself, but it just takes away so much from the attack in general.

2.5 Million Canadians Watched Whitecaps vs. Impact

Saturday's highly-anticipated Major League Soccer (MLS) debut of Montreal Impact against Vancouver Whitecaps FC was the most-watched MLS game ever in Canada. Overnight data from BBM Canada confirms that an average audience of 541,000 viewers watched the all-Canadian match-up on TSN (288,000) and RDS (253,000).

Almost 2.5 million Canadians tuned in to catch some or all of the live MLS action on TSN and RDS.

The Portland/Philadelphia game was fantastic. Their fans really make for a great atmosphere even in the rain.

Kris Boyd is going to end up with a lot of goals this season and between him, Le Toux and Hassli in Vancouver, and Fredy Montero in Seattle the fans in the Cascadia region are in for a wild season.

MLS Live was such a good purchase. Combine it with a simple Canadian proxy and I can watch every game. For those of us that don't get HD programming, its a real godsend to be able to stream every game in HD.

BEAUTIFUL atmosphere. Hate that Chicago was flopping so damn hard all game, wasting time.
Montreal dominated throughout the whole game, missed some great opportunities, got some really bad calls (penalty box tripping). In all a GREAT game!

TFC looked really bad last night, I would love to blame tiredness from playing in Champions League but Seattle was in the exact same situation.

I think we looked really poor without Plata and Koovermans starting. and I'm worried about Frings being out possible long term...
