I have a feeling that the Lakers would have acquired both Sessions and Beasely if they had more time. Either way whats done is done. I'm shocked that Mitch was able to trade away some our bad contracts.

Not shocked at all, those deals are short running and gives those teams time to formulate exactly how they go about making it an advantage for them. Secondly we could've made the Sessions deal weeks ago.......we gave up exactly what I knew we would and what the Cavs wanted. Proves everybody was watching that b*tch Dwight drama.

According to a source familiar with the negotiations, Minnesota backed out of a three-team deal also involving L.A. and Portland at 11:53 a.m. PT, just seven minutes before the noon PT deadline. The trade that was in place would have sent Fisher to Minnesota and the Lakers’ first-round pick acquired in the Lamar Odom trade with Dallas back in December to Portland. Portland, already engaged in a full-fledged fire sale, would have sent Jamal Crawford to Minnesota and the Timberwolves would have sent Anthony Tolliver to Portland. Minnesota would have also been receiving cash considerations from both L.A. and Portland as well.

But, Minnesota owner Glen Taylor and general manager David Kahn pulled out of the deal at the last minute (well, eighth-to-last minute), leaving L.A. officials “puzzled and disappointed” according to a source. Who knows what changed Minnesota’s mind. Maybe it didn’t feel comfortable being on the hook for $3.4 million for a 38-year-old Fisher in 2012-13. Maybe it was concerned that Crawford would opt out of his relatively bargain price of $5 million for next season. L.A. didn’t have time to wallow in the uncertainty trying to figure out the answer. Instead, it scrambled to put together a secondary deal with the Rockets before the trade deadline passed.

FWIW, Beasley would have been a luxury IMO. As much as I would have liked to have his shooting and ability to put the ball on the floor, not getting him does free up some attempts for Goudelock who I still think deserves a few more shots per game.

Based on how things usually go for the Lakers, Jordan Hill will become a valuable third big-man. Michael Beasley will sign in the summer for 2.5m a year (he received a DNP, that's who valuable he is to Minnesota) for two years and the Lakers will laugh... Again.

This franchise has a history of hitting on big deals... missing a few, but hitting even bigger to make up for it.

FWIW, Beasley would have been a luxury IMO. As much as I would have liked to have his shooting and ability to put the ball on the floor, not getting him does free up some attempts for Goudelock who I still think deserves a few more shots per game.

yea but if he could've been had for the same package that we gave up for Hill, I would've rather had Beasly....Hill is nothing special and say he is insurance for Bynum, if Bynum goes down we are SOL regardless of who the backup would be, except maybe in Beasly case he could start next to Pau and at least provide an offensive punch unlike Hill who doesn't provide much of anything.

I like T-will, as much as he's been playing bad lately these past seasons I still see him better than Eyenga. Turiaf might also get waived but not sure if he's a fit now since we acquired Jordan Hill.
