Andres Nocioni?

Post#1 » by Sashobe » Sat Mar 17, 2012 5:01 pm

He just got bought out by the Sixers, sign him to minimum and see what happens? Have Ebanks get minutes in the D-League.

He's getting no minutes this season, but he's a pretty decent career shooter... Might be worth the risk for a playoff run. We have MWP and Barnes for D... We need someone that can shoot.

Could make up for not getting Beasley. Not a bad playmaker too from what I remember. If he can perform he's a solid pickup.

He used to be good on the Bulls and then Kings. I heard he gained weight and lost speed when he got to Philadelphia, no idea on how he is now though.

I'm still hoping we can somehow get our perfect SF, Francisco Garcia over the summer.

We can use our TPE in the off season I think, but I think we need someone right now for our playoff run.
I'm hoping someone perfect gets waived... But Nocioni might not be a bad fit.

I'm not sure Eyenga, Barnes or MWP are in our plans beyond this season anyway... Maybe not even Ebanks.

There might be a reason he got cut. He is worth a look. He is 32.

It amazes me how so many folks are always so anxious to pick up other teams' trash. No thanks to Nocioni. We tried the "designated three point shooter despite the fact that he sucks at everything else" thing with Kapono and saw what a miserable failure that was. Furthermore we already have Murph on our roster to play the role of "shooter who doesn't do much else", and I'd take him as a deep threat over Nocioni. Going out and getting Andres would only serve to take minutes away from one of our better (if not best) bench players in Barnes.

A Lakers scrub :P

In all truthfulness, I don't think guys #10-15 are going to change what happens in the play-off this season.

Nocioni? Williams? You cannot be serious.

If we were going to sign someone before the playoffs if would be a Center. Seeing that we acquired one (albeit a terrible player) in Hill, I doubt that happens now.

No...just no, are you guys desperate for everyone that gets waived or bought out ?

It was a reason why he was glued to the leather cushion. He couldn't move on defense on the perimeter for a winger. His shot has faded, he was a average rebounder and passer so that basically amounts to giving NOTHING.

Same premise on why we axed Fish right ?

Let's get him, we need another guy who can get mad and smash people he doesn't like.

Oh wait we have Ron... McBob.... Barnes.....

He was a good defender years ago, now I don't know but I doubt he's worse than Kapono and they did alright with Kapono on D. His shot was there a year ago. They need a floor-spacer.

Also Williams is far from a waste. A guy by the name of Ariza and even Shannon Brown were lesser talents and found their place.

We don't have much to offer...

So even if a guy like a younger Igoudala was available, we wouldn't be able to sign him anyway...

This isn't about our SF of the future... This is about our SF rotation for the next several weeks...

Maybe Nocioni isn't the perfect fit, but given what we can offer, there may not be a better one out there.

All you really is one of your SFs to catch fire from three-point during the playoffs. Ariza did it in 09. The Mavs used Peja against the Lakers and when he became useless they quickly brought in Cardinal. That's all it really is. If you have options you don't have to suffer through crappy play quite as much. Williams probably isn't much worse of a shooter than Nocioni at this stage.

He brings a different kind of defender in the 6-6 range that's very quick. The Lakers don't have anyone like that other than Kobe.

I'd rather just roll with MWP/Barnes/Ebanks to be honest
