Don't forget that the Boston sports scene was a joke in the 90s before their meteoric rise in the 2000s. Toronto sports teams were all bad because they've all decided to rebuild at the same time.

Toronto Rock and their 5 championships in the last dozen years say hello.

This century couldn't have started off as a bigger disaster for Toronto Sports. It feels like
this era will never END. Our cities sports teams have embarrassed us locally, nationally, and
even partially globally.

With that said....

The Raptors and Blue Jays are on the rise and are doing something no Toronto teams ever do
and thats REBUILD properly.... Unfortuanatley the Leafs are just as messed up as they
always are. 2008 and 2009 high lottery picks Schenn and Kadri look like duds. Outside of
Columnbus and Montreal the Leafs might have the bleakest future in the NHL. Wouldn't
surprise me to see them challenge the Chicago Cubs futility record some day. I don't think
any of us will see them win a Cup in our lifetime unless there are some 10 years olds on here.

As for Michael Kidd Gilchrist I think the Raptors need another scorer and desperatley need
some perimeter shooting from the wings which hes not showing right now. If you draft him
we might have to go after Eric Gordon or Ray Allen hard or try and get another pick to
get Lamb or Beal. DeRozan and JJ could be cheap backups or be traded in that scenario.

And the 2004 Toronto Argo's say Bonjour unfortunatley this is a Pro Sports forum which is why
you don't see the Toronto Rock or Argos tabs beside the Blue Jays, Leafs. Bills, and Sens
near the top.

Err, pretty sure both Argo and Rock players are paid.

Sadly I think the Leafs are actually closer towards being competitive than the Raptors are. What Colangelo has managed to done during his time here is basically revert to a similar scenario when he first joined the team---top/near lotto pick and capspace. Hopefully he doesn't screw it up again

Ya and so are the Toronto Marlies. This is the 4th biggest market in North America we
don't take pride in minor league sports teams accomplishments. The general public does
not care about these teams. I bet nobody on this board could name 5 Toronto Rock and
5 Toronto Argos players without googling them up.

How are the Leafs actually closer towards being competitive then the Raptors are? The 2012
Draft pick and Valanciunas are worth more then anything the Leafs have not to mention the
Leafs are completely capped out and the Raptors could possibly have the most cap space in
the league.

Toronto fans just need to quit whining and be a little more patient. If you turn on the Fan590 your almost guaranteed to hear some fan whining about something. Your always looking for someone to blame whether its ownership, GM's, coaches, players etc...

Why bother complaining about something you have absolutely no control over? Thats for people who have have control of the situation to do, all It does is make our fan base look bad.

All we should do as fans is support the teams/GM's/coaches/players we have, If you don't like the product, don't buy it and don't watch it, simple, no need to whine about it because it just makes you sound like spoilt cry babies.

I believe if Toronto fans start to show more positivity and patience than things will turn around sooner rather than later.

Wasn't there an article a few months back from a college basketball writer claiming
Kentucky could beat our current roster? I played NBA 2K12 for the first time in months
and the Raps were ranked 30th in the game not sure how were worse then the Bobcats,
Hornets, and Wizards?

For a team thats as bad as we are we barely get blown out and if we had a closer on this
team we could be a treadmill team fighting for the playoffs.

We just missed out on the playoffs on the last day of the season 2 years ago and people act
as if were the worst team in the league for the last decade.

Well I think what's happened is there's a bit of turnover in who is the worst team. Clips are good now. GS might be turning things around. Raps could very well not have anyone of consequence on the roster right now. Anyway, rightly or wrongly, once your team gets on the tip of the tongue of broadcasters as the de facto scrub team, you have to wait till you're winning to shake it off.

All of last year and this shortend season but it feels longer. With Colangelo on a contract
year and all the flexibility we have and him mentioning the possibility of amentsying Calderon
I think he has the intention of flipping this thing around and doing a 180. In the East it
doesn't take much to turn it around.

Casey seems like a good coach going forward as well basically with the current group
were looking at our future bench and guys who will be traded as early as next year.
After these next 20 games the Raptors have one of the brightest futures in the league.

I won't claim that Jonas won't be an excellent player but we're still basing this on potential. I think between Kessel and Gardiner, the Leafs already have a better assortment of young, all-star capable talent than the Raptors do.

Also, Colangelo has not proved to do anything noteworthy regarding cap-space. Not to say Burke doesn't do stupid things himself...

Im glad I was around for the Blue Jays back to back world championships, that was really rewarding as a fan to watch and experience. Sadly I dont think Ill be experiencing any other Toronto team (for the Major 3 sports) championships in my lifetime.

Raptors and Leafs fans show up to the games no matter how bad the team is so they don't even need to try that hard to get a winning team out there.

Nobody shows up to Blue Jays games anymore but with baseball its all about how much money you spend and the Blue Jays are in like the bottom 5 in that category. Probably because you've got cheap a$$ Rogers owning it.

With the exception of Mavs has any team ever won with soft big who doesn't defend, rebound, and doesn't play the post... no. If Raps want to be playoff team and winning team they need bigs that play like bigs and wing players that can create their own shots. I want to see my sg/sf taking 20 shots a night from the outside, creating of the dribble, making plays for the bigs inside the post... I want to see C/PF playing the post, getting shots max 15ft outside of the post, shoting high percentage from the field, defending the post, rebounding, anchoring the defense... allot like how the Memphis play with Zach randolph and Mark Gasol. If this team is built like that we will not only win, but we will potential be among best teams like Memphis who I see as sleepers in the West...especially in the playoff were they have advantage upfront...

Jays should have got Fielder when they had the chance. There is no hype at all to build off of for that team so the casual fan couldnt care less about them
